how does one fly?

I can see the potential but it is rather complicated to understand what i'm doing, the names on some parts are confusing and it crashes my game very often when doing anything with the parts

A very useful mod indeed, however the names of the parts suggest little to nothing of what they do, making it very hard for someone who want to build their own configurations. A video tutorial will be of great help.
