Here's a 100m wide by 21m high half pipe. It includes a ramp on one side for getting to the top, and a drop-in ramp. Its suitable for most cars, but works best with standard suspension and high horse power.
I also added a 30m high loop-de-loop and tunnel, and most recently a skate park style complex. I rebuilt the half pipe using traditional ramp blue prints and decreased the amount of vert so you get in the air easier.
The trick to landing the half pipe is to pull the hand brake and steer right or left 2 or 3 blocks from the top of the ramp; this will spin the car around so it lands forwards. Timing the maneuver is the key to sticking the landing, it should land smoothly. A game pad works better than a wheel. The best cars for jumping seem to be ones with any suspension type other than race, and cars with a good horse power/weight ratio.
Next up for this level:
- After studying several game play videos of the level, Ive noticed it needs more smoothing on some of the ramps, so expect an update to that.
- The curved ramp needs to be smaller and more detailed, so it flows togather better.
- Id like to start adding some terrain and scenery so its not just small grid with a ramp.
- Ideally Id like to arrange it into a real world park design for flow between sections. More real world research for that.
