Beta Hopper Leaf-Springs 2.0

Now featuring slightly-less jank

  1. ReDux Pt.1 Paving the path for more crap to come

    I've re-built the mod from the ground up. The only thing that's carried-over with no changes is the model for the front shackle-mounts, and that will be changed eventually as its texture looks kinda bad still.

    Key changes;

    1-Re-stole the pickup parts and made a concerted effort to avoid breaking any textures this time around.

    2-Also made an effort to improve the geometry of the springs both visually and structurally. The practical difference is slight, but it's there.

    3-Majorly cleaned up the jbeams and improved their overall quality. I wouldn't have done this because I'm lazy, but I ran into SO many issues it wasn't even funny. Most of these are resolved now.

    4-The only difference between leaf springs now is their installed height/travel, nothing visual.

    5-The spring being mounted above/below the axle is now a sub-part of the leaf, not inherent to the leaf itself.

    6-Axle height relative to the spring is actually real this time, not purely visual. The axle uses slidenodes and a precompressed beam to push the axle up or down relative to the spring height. This will eventually be used for lift-blocks as well, but the meshes would not cooperate with me and I wanted to squeeze an update out before Christmas.

    7-Changed the prop refnodes for the front driveshaft to hopefully future-proof the mod. I caused another bluetooth driveshaft issue, but after fixing steering wheel props in another mod, I've figured out how to repair this issue myself.

    8-Stole the SFA steering off the pickup and frankensteined it onto the axle under the name "heavy steering". It's not drastically better than vanilla hopper steering in any way and is more like a placeholder at this point...

    9-Added tunable-length shackles. They're not wildly useful, but it was something I wanted to try out. Making them longer will allow you more ride-height, but it can actually hinder you off-road as they'll snag easier.

    10-Made my private "Willys" and "HJ" configs into "HJ-3A" and "HJ-5" and included them with the mod, since the parts-tree is slightly more complex than it was and people might not want to mess with it for 15 minutes before driving it lol.

    11-There is MUCH more to come, but it's a very slow process and I only got this much done now because I had a week or so of down-time and bad weather. It'll likely be a little while before ReDux pt.2 comes out.

    If you read this, congrats lol you've got too much time on your hands.
    have fun.
