The bus does not move at all since the last update...

So much fun, having a Ford CMax hybrid myself it's great to see it well implemented in the game, thanks!
-
Author's Response
Thanks! I also have a hybrid version of the ETK856 which is a similar body style to the CMax ;)

Love it! It does seems to charge the battery when driving in reverse though.

Author's Response
That's an issue I fixed right after posting the last update; it'll be fixed in the next version

This mod is so niice! I was waiting for this for a long time. :) Little question: Is it possible to reduce the engin starting noise of the bus when switching from EV to gas (to simulate a real hybrid) just like your Etk? Thank you.
-
Author's Response
The new version will feature "idle stop" like my ETK hybrid does, and I removed the starter sound for that. The "racing" version of the bus still has the normal starter sound because it doesn't have engine idle-stop.

It's amazing mod! Can you make your awesome mod comparable to the articulated buses mod? https://www.beamng.com/resources/articulated-frame-component-for-bus.3526/

Awesome!! But what does L shift mode do? It reduces power on acceleration as it only half loads the engine? (yet doesn't charge batt.) also the park charge mode needs to have way lower RPM, maybe 1400RPM.
-
Author's Response
Reducing acceleration power is a bug; I have to fix that. It should be identical acceleration to "D" but when you let off the gas it will slow down pretty quickly without having to touch the brake, as opposed to "D" where letting off the gas just coasts.
I'll be pushing a new version later to fix the acceleration bug, so whenever that gets approved it should work correctly.

I was just on the hunt for a Bus-CVT mod, but this is so much better, the only thing missing is obviously the ui app, but man, this is just gorgeous
-
Author's Response
Keep an eye out in the Apps section; I submitted the UI app as a separate mod, so once it gets approved you'll be able to install it!

Arcanox, you have some serious skills, thank you from sharing them with the world!

This hybrid system is so awersome that I cant pick a poin for start to explain how awersome is. This isn't vanilla powertrain and I really want it implemented to the game core, IS THAT GOOD. This system would make easy to implement a lot of electric equipment. Like Diesel-Electric and full electric trains; and that bus with multiple articulations. Would you share and explain it to other people or will you keep it for you?
-
Author's Response
It's technically open source; I haven't posted the source repository anywhere yet. Since the mods are really just .zip files with the source code, anybody can look at the mod file in their game directory and see all the source code ;)
I'll probably write a forum post detailing how everything works at some point.

- 5/5,
I love it, it is really well done - the battery depletes, recharges and overall the bus behaves like I think it should. It is also first such hybrid vehicle I have seen in BeamNG.

Awesome! Have you considered working on an hybrid T-Series? It would be great!
-
Author's Response
Haven't driven the T-series yet, but I am working on a hybrid version of the ETK 800! I'm trying a new technique for it which is taking a bit longer to get working right.

Really good! but i believe the hybrid system uses thrusters instead of powering the wheels, it would be perfect
-
Author's Response
It does use a thruster, yes. I'm working on a custom gearbox that will actually apply "electric" torque to the wheels, but the math and logic behind it is way more complex so it will take a while to get that working.

Now all we need to do is combine this mod with the Covet Bus Engine mod :D
-
-
Author's Response
Wow, didn't think anybody would find that feature so fast! That was actually originally by accident, but I remembered that there's a particular bus I was reading about that was designed to work like that for going through long tunnels, so I kept it in :P

This is awesome! Needs to be implemented on a smaller car as well such as the Sunburst.
-
Author's Response
I'm planning on adapting it to smaller cars too, including engine auto-stop; I have to tune the parts down from a bus to a car first though :P
