Beta Hyperion Spirit 1.1

A very fast, very powerful Greyhound-style bus with loads of seating and over 3000 horsepower.

  1. Intake and Interior Fixes

The intake position has been moved from nodes on the engine mesh to nodes on the body, roughly aligned with the position of the intake pods on the sides of the bus. The intent with the intake pods was cool air intake, high intake height for water fording, and as an anti-dust measure for desert travel were the bus to be made in real life.

Also, the steering wheel and gauges now work properly, though there is still significant rigidity issues with them, sufficiently hard bumps can cause the gauge needles to twitch and shudder about, and at low speeds with the steering almost all the way to one side the steering wheel itself can begin vibrating suddenly, also due to Automation exporter stiffness and damping issues.

The engine and turbochargers have been tuned somewhat, boost should come in sooner and I'm figuring out what to do with the turbo pressure, currently it can be tuned all the way up to 85psi, but it doesn't actually go above around 27 psi anyways despite having the maximum boost pressure the turbo can produce reaching around 84.8psi at maximum compressor speed.

I plan to make the rear-mounted twin radiators have their own beams with which I can make them steam when overheating, and I still need to beef up the brakes since they overheat too easily despite being carbon-ceramic, the Automation exporter treats them like supercar brakes which are nowhere near as high in thermal mass as heavy duty brakes are, so I plan to somehow make them heat up and cool down much slower, as if the rotors are much thicker. Also, I'll need to edit the body mesh itself in Blender sometime, since there's some strange bits I never noticed when making it in Automation. I also need to add some thickness to the roof and side pillars, since I had neglected to do so in Automation as well. Also, do be careful, the tyres are not quite as grippy as I think they should be, but even so the bus is very heavy so its not going to turn or slow down that well.
