Phompsonby was doing well in the motor industry at the beginning of the 20th century. They had a vehicle for nearly every market and more being developed. However, when WWI broke out in 1914, Phompsonby wanted to do what they could to help. Amongst trying to develop armoured cars, they also hastily retrofitted many of their ambulances for the army, with off-road tyres, a taller ride height and some off-road capabilities. This is a good example of one of these ambulances, with the thick tyres, army green paint, slit headlights and white medical strip on the rear of the body.

    Some tech specs:
    • A turn of the century inline 4 1.5 litre engine producing 89.7 HP.
    • Nearly 100 Nm of torque, 99.7 to be precise.
    • Top speed of 73 MPH.
    • Longitudinal RWD 4 speed manual gearbox.
    • Double wishbone suspension both front and rear.
    • 2 seater but plenty of space in the back for wounded or medics and supplies.
    • Off road undertray and tyres to try and help with the mud of the Western Front.
I know the front droops for some reason but I don't know why, other than maybe weight, but I've tried to correct it but it still does it slightly. Otherwise, there's no problems with it as far as I know, so please let me know of any you find.
