More features are coming soon; I've been debugging this update first to ensure a stable mod.
    *0.7.1 update

    Race Learner
is an experimental racing AI mod for Hirochi Raceway. It runs continuous laps, tests changes to its driving line and pace, and saves what it learns for each vehicle setup.

    Three driving profiles*
    • Slow: starts near the center of the track, explores the racing line, then gradually increases speed.
    • Normal: uses BeamNG’s AI grip pace with racing-line experiments and learned local speed limits.
    • Fast: pushes harder from the opening laps, accepting more crashes while learning where to slow down.

Switch profiles while driving using the HUD buttons. Each profile has its own saved learning. A lap driven with multiple profiles is excluded from learning and records.

    Persistent vehicle learning*
Learning is saved separately for each car’s parts/tuning setup, circuit path, and driving profile. Change cars, reload the map, or restart the game—returning to the same combination restores its progress.

The learner remembers successful driving plans, braking estimates, local speed limits, racing-line adjustments, and contact clearance. New stints still include warm-up laps.

    Shared circuit knowledge*
Repeated clean laps contribute to a shared circuit library. New vehicle setups can start with a restrained blend of a demonstrated racing line, while keeping their own speed and braking estimates. Existing vehicle learning remains intact.

    Supported circuits
    • Long Race Circuit
    • Medium Race Circuit
    • Short Race Circuit

You can also record a custom circuit path* by manually driving a complete lap.

    Additional features*
    • Continuous warm-up and push laps
    • Local adjustments after contact or failed attempts
    • Automatic crash and stuck recovery
    • Separate lap-records HUD with vehicle configuration snapshots
    • Confirmed record resets for one layout or all layouts
    • Optional replay capture with best-lap bookmarks
    • Live circuit map and vehicle position
    • Button-based profile and settings controls

    Getting started
    1. Load Hirochi Raceway in freeroam.
    2. Add the Race Learner HUD and, optionally, Race Learner Records.
    3. Select your vehicle, circuit, and driving profile.
    4. Press Prepare, then Start.

An automatic or sequential transmission is recommended. Use Off before changing the circuit or learning/recovery settings.

    Alpha status:
Crashes can occur, especially with the Fast profile. Track boundaries are approximate, and results vary by vehicle and setup. The mod adapts local driving parameters within the selected route; it does not replace BeamNG’s steering controller or guarantee an optimal racing line.

Learning data stays in your BeamNG user folder and is preserved when replacing the mod ZIP.

Interesting concept, but if any part of a car aside from the tires touches the ground, it invalidates the lap and causes the ai to drive slower on subsequent laps. A pretty niche case of mine where I run karts that have very little clearance and vanilla courses are bumpy enough for it to scrape the frame on the ground.

Cool concept, but you cant tab away from the learning car to race beside and watch it. kinda boring watching it just drive itself.

Noted, I will see if I can add a system for multiple cars and/or just be able to tab out of the car and it still runs its laps

It works good, it will attempt to drive literally any car I give it, even modded cars, and while it's slow (probably my fault as im not the brightest bulb in the box) it does work well, and I find it enjoyable to just give it a car, and have it be doing its thing in the background, helps with adhd and boredom, I can just watch it, and judge it.

Exactly why I built it haha, I'm working on making it better.
