Experimental Resizable ETK 800 2.0 (refresh)

RC car, long limo, crazy donk, and giant car crusher, all in one mod, + more!

  1. IMPORTANT UPDATE, mod reworked completely, please read new terms of use

    Agent_Y
Yes you read it correctly, this mod has terms of use now. But don't worry, they are not legally binding, and they are very simple: just don't edit the files of this mod, that's all.
Why would I add this kind of terms? Because some not very nice people have been selling modified copies of this mod, without any permission from me or any credit, and of course all the money went to them. And they were very badly modified too with little effort. And clickbait youtubers were using them in the most cringe BeamNG videos known to mankind. I was practically asked by other people to try to stop them somehow.

Now with the boring stuff out of the way, let's get to the new update, and read through the changelog of this massive update.
    • Updated everything to the refreshed 0.28 version of the ETK 800.
This includes the 3D model, materials, textures, and all the physics stuff.
    • Added sedan body and all the new parts from the new game update.
Sedan body, ttSport widebody kit, USDM parts, race parts, off-road cladding, Rennspecht aftermarket parts, and the new skins included!
    • Reworked basically all old parts except mirrors and front bumper support.
Most of the rework had to do with updating them to match the refreshed ETK 800, but I also added many improvements specific to the resizable nature of the car.
    • Added all new colors from the updated ETK 800, but kept the old ones too.
56 colors in total available now!
    • Updated all configurations, removed some useless ones and added better ones instead.
Updated: 2D, Donk, Microcar, Flatout, Pancake, RC Car, SUV, Limo, Autobahn Blockade, President's Limo
Updated and renamed: Normal -> Normal Wagon, Small -> Size x0.75, Very Small -> Size x0.5, Very Big -> Size x1.5, Very Very Big -> Size x2, Huge -> Size x5, Car Crusher -> Size x10
Removed: Tiny Wheels, Hatchback, Lowered, Widebody Kit, LWB, Big
Added: Size x0.1, Size x0.25, Normal Sedan, Cartoon Car, Longest Limo, Extreme Widebody, Big Fat Cheater

    • The mod is now independent from the normal ETK 800, it shouldn't break it or itself in future updates.
This means that this is possibly the last update of it.
    • The mod now mostly works with the random parts mod most of the time.
The randomizer will select presets instead of scrambling tuning values, which was causing it to explode most of the time before.
    • You can also select one of those presets in parts selector:
      presets.png
    • Simplified traffic bodies available in parts selector.
They will make the car stable below 0.5x size.
      bodies.png
    • Rigid suspensionless hubs added in parts selector for those bodies.
Will make the car stable below 0.2x size.

    • Improved stability of lots of things.
I basically did the same changes as I did in one of the recent updates to my first mod that lets you edit the car's physical properties, that made it stable on extremely low weights.
    • You can now get down to 0.1x size, but it's at the limit of the game engine stability so it will be really buggy.
Previously the limit was 0.5x original size.
    • Increased range of brake force setting to 1% - 1000%.
      Previously it was 60% - 1000%.
    • Changed range of FFB strength setting to 5% - 150%.
Previously it was 50% - 200%, too much high bias.
    • Added drag coefficient tuning slider, so you can reduce the aero drag of large cars, increasing the top speed. Increased the max fuel volume available so you can fit more fuel in bigger cars. Added a new variable for the maximum fuel volume shown on the UI so it doesn't show near empty tank on small cars.

    • Fixed the brand logo not displaying on certain scenario/mission screens.
This was caused by me accidentally deleting its png file.
    • All engines and their sub-parts are now available.
Previously the 3.0L I6 was the only option, and had next to no selectable parts.

    • Thermal resistence of engine components and the turbocharger now scales with the torque multiplier.
In simple terms: powerful cars won't overheat so easy.
    • Oil volume now scales with the car's size.
Should prevent oil starvation when cornering on huge cars.
    • Clutch cooling coefficient scales with the car's size.
Simply: clutch will overheat less on big cars.
    • Customizable clutch thermal resistence scales with the clutch mass.
This means no more burning super heavy clutches.
    • Fixed issues with certain torsion bars breaking easily when you made the car easy to deform but hard to break.
Practically, no more subframe snapping when driving over large bumps.
    • Brake diameter and mass simulation is now accurate to the actual visible diameter and the car's weight.
That further increases the braking capabilities of large cars.
    • Brake size now scales with the wheels, and a new variant was added that will not be resized at all if you want small brakes with big wheels.
      noresize_brakes.png
    • Openable doors, hood, trunk/tailgate, with triggers that are resized with the car.
99% of the time the triggers should still look natural after resizing.
    • New variables to change the latch strength and the opening and closing force and duration of the openable parts.
This is to fix the issue you might have experienced with my first mod, where strong cars have disproportionately weak latches, and also to allow to open heavy doors properly.
      latch_tuning.png
    • Both new and old police light bar is available in parts selector.
Kept the old one because it's also cool.
    • Radiator coolant volume now scales with the radiator size.
So big cars don't need higher performance radiators anymore.
    • Oil cooler added to prevent oil overheating on huge cars.
If you had oil overheating issues before, not anymore!
    • Suspension finally works correctly regardless of the car's size, bump stop range scales with the car's height.
Previously the suspension travel was super weird after resizing due to the bump stops acting wrong, but I properly fixed it now.
    • New variables added to retune the suspension behavior back to original after changing the stiffness and damping of the whole car.
To put it simply: for a 2x bigger car you need 2x more weight, to hold that weight properly you need 2x more stiffness and damping of the chassis, but then you want to make the suspension 2x less stiff and less damped to have the same behavior as before.
      suspension_retune.png
    • Added new non-resizable variants of steering wheels if you want big wheels but normal steering wheel.
This makes more sense for a small car with big wheels, but less for a big car with small wheels.
      noresize_steeringwheels.png
    • New variable for the amount of wheel rays, bigger will ride smoother but be less stable (physically).
You will want to reduce this value for small cars and increase for big ones.
      numRays.png
    • New adjustable final drives for both differentials with a much bigger adjustment range.
      Also available on normal ETKs.

With all these changes, the mod is a lot better than before! Have fun with it, but please don't edit its files. You can take a look at them and see what I did to prevent people from editing them easily though.
