Good update here!
BeamNG version 0.15 got amazing optimizations to the game engine, which means that the performance of this scenario has vastly improved. The spawn lag is practically undetectable (at least to me), and the map's performance itself got a boost. So, here's what I've done! This scenario now has a less intense version (3 AI vehicles, good for average CPUs) and a more intense version (5 AI vehicles, powerful CPUs recommended!). I have an AMD Ryzen 5 2600 6-Core CPU, and the more intense version runs like butter.
With more AI vehicles, the more intense version feels like it has much more traffic! It's getting pretty crazy. You'll have to be more careful if you want to race through the whole thing!
- Highly optimized code! I was able to remove a bunch of extra Lua trigger objects, so things are a lot cleaner.
- Two versions, pretty self explanatory
- More spawn zones; traffic spawning may feel less predictable
- Driving a police car (or some other special vehicles) may affect the behavior of AI. For example, the AI police car will allow you, a "fellow police officer", to speed more than usual.
