Great mod, but I DO think that the 1 star guy is valid in some ways. Sure, 1 star is harsh, but it IS important that other community members are informed of issues.

Why do public reviews exist? We could just PM the mod owner any of our issues, or use the forum/discussion thingy that a good chunk of modders use. Public reviews exist to prevent a terrible mod from becoming popular, or to prevent a amazing mod from staying unpopular.

Again, 1 star is a bit harsh, but I NEEDED a review like his to know if this mod was worth it or not. I don't mean to be rude.. but let's be honest: the vocal BeamNG community is mostly children. ALSO, opinions vary. Someone else might think that crash physics are the number one most important thing in the world, but I could care less (I know how to drive ;D).

Considering all of this, I think it's fair to say that public reviews are needed to understand if a mod is right for me or not. If this mod had the worst crash physics in the world, I wouldn't care at all. But.. if this mod had buggy handling and a choppy throttle response, I wouldn't download it.

It's why I don't download Filman86's mods or whatever his name is. That Group 5 Moonhawk is SEXY, but it's buggy and that ruins the ENTIRE appeal of a track car for me.

Again, 1 star was probably an overreaction, but even if he is some egomaniac, I appreciate the time and effort it took for him to find issues and inform the community. No need to belittle him because he tried to help out. Maybe YOU'RE the problem? Work on your insecurity, man.

I want to thank you for writing this review. I had never really thought about it from this type of perspective before. It makes sense. I was not in a good place when that review came in. I was in the hospital's house with my grandmother, who would pass away the very next day, and I had lost my grandfather just over a month prior. I couldn't take it. He also posted it in my thread on the official Discord server, and when I asked him for help with some of the harder issues, he didn't reply and instead posted this here. It was the tipping point for me. At any rate, I've said what I said. I do plan on addressing most of the issues at some point but I'm just low on motivation. Thanks once again for the time it took you to write this review, and have a fantastic day.

My man, if you gonna be releasing a new update almost everyday, at least give the files the same name so my comp will overwrite the old file instead of forcing me to scroll thru almost 300 files to find and delete the old file.

I'm very sorry. I have never had that issue, I didn't know that was a problem.

True definition of modern restomod that the old barstow deserved.

There's a bug that the spoiler don't show up even after i selected it from the part selector. I had cleared cache, disabled all the other mod and pretty sure to say that something had broke the spoiler of the Bristol. Any chance for the mod to get a fix for the spoiler sometimes?

Despite the bug, i still had a great time using this mod and it paired very well with javi's CEEP mod. Thus, it deserved a 5 stars. I just wish that the spoiler can get its fix sometimes

Edit: The spoiler bug had been fixed. You just gotta download the 200bx legacy for the 200bx spoiler family to avoid texture issue

Good point about the 200BX part. I'll get that fixed. Thanks for the heads up!

I think this mod has a considerable amount of care and attention, brought to it, that i wish was prominent in some other mods ive downloaded as of late. Sure, there's a hiccup here and there, but thats the case for just about any mod, especially one thats been out for this long. I like it. not even a big fan of the barstow, so something like this makes that car a lot more worthwhile to me. the headlights turned out amazing

This mod honestly deserves a higher rating, i've had a lot of fun driving it around. There are some small issues but its not something that is annoying enough that you notice it every time you use the car. Unless you are specifically looking for issues with the mod you won't notice them

I seriously don't know how disrespectful you have to be to give the mod a 1 star only because of minor bugs present in it. This is not how you review mods, you review them on what they deliver in the first place.

The work you have done on this is great, and i don't respect anyone who's too nit-picky on minor bugs. I tried it myself and it is plenty of fun. Yes, pesky bugs are there, but is it fun? Absolutely, and i think it absolutely deserves a 5 star just for the fun it delivers.

Don't worry about Lordlichi's review. I can think of about 10 times that he has given a one star rating on a mod that only has minor bugs. Best you can do is ignore people like him.

ive tried this mod and i feel that i need to give some feedback of everything ive found (i posted it in beamng but i also want to post it here so other ppl see it)

    - the badge is unreadable it looks like a blob if you are further away than 10cm
    - why does a body colored part glow??? that makes no senses
    - what is going on with the mesh? it looks as if its been hit with a hammer
    - why does the tailight housing glow?? and why is the indicator that weird part on the top, that just looks horrible, you could do it like the normal barstow that uses the tailight as indiator
    - reverselight partially glows red
    - trunk doesnt open
    - shading is off in the quarter panel area
    - what is up with the dash? why is it so glossy? also the barstow badge on the interior is almost unreadable
    - the double hood scoop makes no sense?????? also the uvs are a bit fucked
    - i dont even know how that happens, but when you turn the wheels, either side of the body panels starts shaking
    - what is going on with the headlight textures?????
    - the black part of the grille is clipping into the headlight
    - how does a black plastic colored part glow???
    - the uvs on the bumper and the mesh shading is pretty broken
    - the classic v8 header is clipping in the block
    - theres only one spark plug coil on the v8 (there should be 8)
    - the modern v8 header is only on one side and looks like plastic
    - the classic transmission is clipping into the engine block
    - the classic engine block valvecovers are still there
    - the radiator hose is going into the intake
    - the intake throttle and fuel injectors are still there, but the supercharger already has carburators and an intake
    - the v6 block is unproperly placed, the original intake manifold is still there, while the v6 akready has an intake manifold. all of the other engine components are from a v8
    - the v10 headers are unequaly spaced, they should be equal spaced cuz the cylinders are all the same
    - the engine block is just gray it also has the stock v8 valvecovers
    - the itb intake is clipping with the stock v8 intake + the itb doesnt have any filters or airhorns
    - theres only one header
    - the transmission is clipping
    - the classic v8 headers is clipping
    - the v8 diesel block is scaled but the other components arent, so everything is too small and clipping into the engine
    - the exhaust doesnt line up
    - theres no transmission model
i hope you can fix these issues because i like the concept of it
But it just looks crappily made

I'm not normally this kind of person, but I can't help it when you literally said "i posted it in beamng but i also want to post it here so other ppl see it". Does this make you feel like a good modder? Is that why you do this? Do you think it makes you look good to other people? No lo hace. All of your complaints are valid and most will be addressed when i get home from the hospital, but if you want to make yourself look good this is not the way. Try being constructive please.

Do you ever plan on making a version that's more viable as an actual car?
A normal restomod, you could say, leaving the car as the same car.
You could make a less aggressive body that isn't required to have massive rear fenders.

Not really to be honest. At the end of the day, this is just a mod for a video game, made by someone who is driven by passion for the game. At the end of the day, this review is almost fully taste based and not regarding the quality of the mod. Have a nice week.

Best Barstow mod on the entire repo. Unfortunately not completely perfect, as some configs engines are glitchy or not working, especially the "Oval King" config. Great mod overall tho
