Possible "importing texture" issue for some, I don't know why it happens, hopefully a restart will fix. Please let me why it happens if you find out, thanks.
Made for screenshots then added some AI roads in the city bit and put holes in some buildings to fly through. City AI roads are not fully finished but there is some there. It's potato friendly I think, nice low poly count so a few extra cars can be added in traffic. Oh and I decided to make a matrix skin, major warning for that map, all textures move, it's really disorientating.

There's 4 main materials in charge of the maps, not counting the mirror gridmap ground pane (from blank gridmap) which is not the same as "vaporgrid". Emissive maps and roughness are the main ones. Trees are "m_fanpalm_leaves" and "m_palm_trunk", they have colour maps, so edit the "basecolor map" colour box too.
Both maps use the same names for materials, vaporgrid, vaporway, ect.
Feeling braver?
The vehicle skins are done by editing vehicle materials similar to the maps, click on the car icon at your vehicle to get the list of materials for the car only. If you try this, DO NOT SAVE THE MATERIALS or you will need to delete some files in "AppData\Local\BeamNG.drive\0.26\vehicles" most likely any "skin.materials.json" or "materials.json" in vehicle folders and the common folder if you edited wheels/tyres and possibly more. A clear cache should work.
