Yeah, they're orange blocks with ''NO'' written on them. I had the same problem, I restarted the game and everything was back to normal again.

N to toggle the headlights (as noted before) and F1 to see the panel with all the controls.
It's the same with the numpad for keyboard users. I don't like it very much either, but I'm sure they'll make a more advanced controls menu later.
