    Re-introducing That old spiking in this update is concerning indeed. Doesn't help that some people still see BeamNG as unrealistic... Wonder if the team has already planned on Making BeamNG Drive 2. If they keep breaking the game like this, the only thing left will be to start on the next game. But Maybe that's what they want since it'll bring in more money, early access games don't need to deliver to sell.

    What the actual heck, these are minor issues that can be fixed in a few updates at most, it doesn't make the game "less realistic", it's absolutely not worth restarting all the work from scratch and making a new game, it has already taken 10+ years to get to this stage

    I didn't say it's more realistic, I meant that it will definitely be fixed shortly and overall doesn't lower the realism of the game that much since it's just a visual thing

    Yeah, nah. Lowers the realism. Entire game is visual for the most part. If you couldn't see the damage, you wouldn't bother to play it. There'd be nothing to see but a bunch of invisible physics equations that nobody gives a shot about.

    The Hopper offroad tube doors are weird. They open by 180 degrees and won't close again, the trigger positions make no sense on them, and some beams break during the opening. And the fabric ones don't open at all. The D-Series ones don't have any of these issues.

    Positive Feedback:

    New car interior sound blending is SUPERB and feels so much more realistic, however sliders to adjust the muffling would be great, so I can hear the engine a little more.

    It's realistic, but would be nice to reduce volume of tire sounds, running/wind sounds a bit.

    New ETK is really well put together, but breaks steering wheels on most mods, I suppose thats not your problem though.

    Negative Feedback & Constructive Criticism:


    The AI 3 point turning raytracing or whatever is impressive, but you're too keen to show it off. Maps like Passo Stelvio were amazing to drive on in 0.27 with AI being patient and slowly getting past eachother on the tightest roads both ways. The didn't even have to slow down often either!

    Now, everywhere I go, the AI is turning their cars around after waiting for just THREE SECONDS! Also given the map is way tighter than Italy, they take like 20 points to turn instead of 3. There are also flipped cars EVERYWHERE somehow and I'm constantly hearing crashing sounds.

    I'm asking for some thresholds to be implemented into such a behaviour:
    • A minimum time the car can't proceed forward before they think of turning around.
    • The maximum number of turning points in order to start a turn around (I understand this may be hard, maybe you can use the ray tracing to estimate the road width and have a threshold for road width instead).
      This should really be no more than 10, ever. I am constantly having to drive up to cars and hit Insert so I can drive at all.
    Making these thresholds user adjustable, set by the map, or even in LUA would be awesome.

    Discussion / my take on the AI issues:

    It seems every 3/4 patches, AI is completely ruined then perfected again.

    Last time it was 0.23 - AI was perfect - superb on FPS, smooth driving, great variety, consistent population across the map.

    Then in 0.24 FPS was quartered with AI, the variety was messed up (trucks everywhere, same car colours everywhere) and most areas of the map were deserted. They would only drive/appear within 0.5km of where you spawned them then the game would stop generating AI.

    In 0.25 things got better FPS wise but still not great, police chases were nonexistent.

    In 0.26 the variety was fixed and felt just right. 0.27 the lane changes were much better.

    Now in 0.28 it seems we're back at the start of the cycle again.

    The work you're doing is amazing but you should really test the changes you make on different types of map a bit more comprehensively, maybe you can make a dev map with different types of roads, gradients, widths, terrain, etc... would help you refine your new systems a lot better, rather than being overdone.

    Yes, the entire deformation feels like a step down from the previous version.
    Noticed it on my default d series crew cab, that I've been using for about 2 years now.
    Interior spiking is worse thanks to the interior collisions. On the outside the deformation is also overall less smooth. (every car)
    Really hope they do something with it.

    Cars start way to easy, i can tap V key now at engine doesnt even turn over fully and it is already on, on 0.27 took more time

    Because right now every engine will start up when you release V button for some reason.

    Nearly every car was some bright color, weird considering most cars in real life are more dull. The new system is way better

    It happens with most of the D-Series's mechanical parts, most of the H-Series's mechanical parts, and the Hopper's driveshaft as well. I don't think any vehicle in the game has a non-broken texture in 0.28.0 on Lowest Lighting Quality.
