Another weird quirk about the new UI is that the option to adjust the load size for cargo box loads doesn't appear in the tuning tab. However, that option works for both small and large logs and the wooden crate with adjustable mass

If someone came to your workstation that you'd used for thousands of hours over many years, making changes such that it breaks your well established workflow, would you want to hear "people just resist change for the sake of it =p"?

The new UI is faster and I like that. The design is.... almost OK. I really don't get why it looks optimized for a touch screen rather than for a PC game for nerds. But the problem is the legibility has gone way down.

I can't figure out how to bring back the old UI so I can't show a side by side. But in the parts selector, before one could have many different sub menus open and very easily, at a glance, *without having to read the words*, see where they needed to look for whatever part they want to access. Now everything is too close together, not enough separation or size offset to see where you are.

I'm not a UX Architect so I apologize if this isn't helpful. It would be easier to explain with a visual aid.

In the new version of the interface, names in other languages may not fit into the window. everything was OK on the old version

with the new ui system i can no longer search for the part name specifically as well as the slot i would like to see this feature of the old ui return as it makes customizing cars which is one of the main reasons i bought this game a pain in the butt

The rear right turn signal on both of the Nine's pickup body styles doesn't seem to work, and it's only an issue on the base taillight.

On the subject of degraded familiarity

    upload_2024-12-10_19-17-35.png

I never understood why any racing game would arrange the ratio tuning so that there isn't a visually intuitive correlation between each gear slider.

This hand crafted render of the old style ratio tuning menu with visual aids for reference should help make my point clear

    upload_2024-12-10_19-31-28.png

The blue line represents the imaginary curve visualized in the mind that gives a good idea to the user of the viability of their chosen ratios. Not only does this system carry a legacy from over ten years of being the standard interface in BeamNG, but it's how all the best racing games have done it since Gran Tursimo 1.

I suspect the reason for this unprecedentedly limited range of available ratios relative to all other race adjustable transmissions in the game, and the resulting non linearity of the sliders, has something to do with a desire for realism. The green bracketed areas in the picture above show a way to have a more limited selection of ratios (if that must be a thing, which I don't think it should) while still preserving the intuitive nature of the old sliders. The slider would not be able to be adjusted outside of the green.

It's not a dealbreaker for one car to have non linear ratio sliders, but I'd be so bummed if this is planned to be a standard implementation for tunable ratio transmissions going forward.

I love the Bruckell 9 - it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. The only issue I’ve noticed with it is that when using coilovers on the front suspension, the shocks stay black no matter what is selected. There doesn’t seem to be a custom tail light option for fenderless sedans, either. I also want to mention that I would love to see some vintage pie-crust slicks, both regular and white-walled. I can’t wait to see what’s next!

is it possible to make the text slightly larger, especially in the dropdown menus? looks too small to me compared to the old UI.
    upload_2024-12-10_21-1-2.png
the design also looks slightly inconsistent, for example background color

Found a bug. I am running Beam without any mods. This is the Sunburst in the Utah challenge and it seems like the gear indicator is messed up.

The new UI all the text is bigger and the list is longer making finding what you want harder. The old list everything is more neat, compact and easier to read. You can see more things at once without having to scroll. Same applys to the tuning tab

The halogen light fade seems to have linear animation. IIRC, halogen light fade in quickly, then slows down a bit as it reaches peak brightness. Implementing a Bézier curve for the fade animation should make this better. Something like:

Looking now the UI seems to have been changed to be much more legible now. Very impressed at how quickly this was resolved.

    Thanks devs!

    upload_2024-12-10_22-45-33.png

(I think it could be improved further by having each tier of dropdown parts lists slightly offset to the right as well)

The taillights on the Nine have a weird texture when the headlights are on:

    Brake only:
    20241210205128_1.jpg

    Only taillight (or turn signal):
    20241210205132_1.jpg

    Brake and taillight:
    20241210205131_1.jpg

The brake light gets the extra bits for a brief moment when the taillight is turned off:

ok after spending more time with the u.i i was wrong. The new UI is fine. But i finally realised why i dont like using it there is a MAJOR ISSUE, the old ui is orange and white on a lighter gray background which is ok. The new u.i is pure black with white text which is awful to read and it strains my eyes.
Pure black text on white backgrounds can cause eye strain when users read the text over an extended period. White has 100% color brightness, and black has 0% color brightness. Such a disparity in color brightness creates intense light levels that overstimulate the eyes when reading text. Give an option to change it to a whit back ground, lighten the black a bit like the old ui or something would help immensely
