So....something has just happened. It appears my system took a dump, and I lost a bunch of mods in my repo folder and unreleased private mods in my unpacked folder, including the Civetta J58 V4 pre-release. The other possibility is that someone hacked my system while I was sleeping and stole all the files from that directory. It is really strange because I only lost files in the BeamNG\0.34\mods\repo and BeamNG\0.34\mods\unpacked folder. Would be very strange for my system to only take a dump in that one directory. In the coming weeks you guys may see a hacked release. I am not going to say you cannot have it - that would be unfair, but if that IS what happened, I am done. No more releasing to public. That will be the final release, even though it is not even close to how I wanted it for a release. In the future, I am unplugging my system from internet access while I am sleeping or going to work. It honestly would not surprise me if this were what happened. For now, I guess I have to start all over from the last release. Another delay...
im so sorry that happened. if that happened to me and i lost nearly all of my files including the mod, i would just quit on the mod. also, have you checked your onedrive or similar? it could be there
I uninstalled one drive. Could that have deleted the files? I FRIGGIN HOPE NOT. I never put anything specifically on one drive, so it better not have put anything there and deleted it when I uninstalled it!
i never said it deleted it, i was asking if it maybe got uploaded there but you said you uninstalled it so no chance
Nah...in a few days I will do a deep search of the drive and see if I can find the files with an external program to search the drive segment by segment etc. Similar method is used by police when someone deletes incriminating files. Hopefully that gives results.
Dude don't give up I'm a fellow modder and I know how it feels to lose hours of work I'm here to say it's looks amazing I hope to see more releases and if you need any help dm me I'll do what I can to help you out with this if that just beta testing or what not I'm here I have nothing on repo but I do lost of personal stuff solo that I sadly lost dude to my old laptop having a hard drive fail on me
I appreciate the thought. This was probably 60 hours of work easily, some of it, like the UVMaps for the dynamic mirrors may not be the same, and on the tailgate the UV was messed up before, too and now I have to fix that. It'll be a pain, but I think I can eventually get it done.
Take your time I've been playing with it it's just waiting on server cleaning to see the release in my rp server
the glowmap part of halogen lights is mostly easy, but thr actual lights/cookies is so damn hard i csnt even get it to work on my mod
The lights on the base car literally are Halogens. You ever seen Halogen lights from the 80's? They suck. Look at lights on the real car at night. They only project, like 60-75m and that is generous. The lights on the base car are projecting 120m which is more than they should, and the LM with its fantasy prototype HED lights project 300m, I think. The base car has an optional HED flip-up light option that is for the experimental Rally config. Look on the parts configurator before complaining, please. I added options for everyone to hopefully be happy, however the base car config has the realistic crappy light on it for purists.
speedfreak, if you do it, the glowmaps part is quite easy, but the actual lights/cookie is so hard and i didnt even find any information on the documentation
Yeah....it's a handful without learning to properly control it. With no ABS, or TCS it is just you and the car. This why I recommend a steering wheel or a controller because other wise you will spin out from the start. The car is not the best optimized for handling in the public release, too. It's drivable for a street and back road setting, but it spins really easily on a track. I am talking about the Stock, Midnight Entry and Stock (Track) configs, of course. This is why my first priority is to get the handling fixed before I do anything else. The LM configs handle OK, but if you turn too sharply, they will rollover because I didn't beta test enough on twisty roads. It's a process. Please bear with it until I can get the car fully developed.
I am NOT a modeler. I don't think so. I don't know of a model laying around from a game. I would feel wrong using a community members model or a professional modeler on the internet without permission.
