A bunch of wagon body sunburst configs are using sedan slots and parts, this isn't causing issues when loading them in because of default parts but it should probably still be fixed.

For example here's the sport_EU_wagon_DCT.pc config:

A small thing I noticed, and this might have already been reported.
When editing UI apps, let's say you want to edit something to appear in all setups. So you go through the list of different UI setups (scenario, time trials, etc.) and commit your change. If you have committed an edit on one UI setup, if you pick a new one from the list it doesn't register your new pick. You must pick it twice for it to register.
I hope I managed to explain it, it's not a big deal just a little bit annoying because at first I did not realize this doesn't work properly.

I liked how the 0.36 paint overhaul looked in the patch notes and some of the new paints are neat, but after going through a few cars while refreshing my personal configs, I can't help but feel like some other paints seem to have been changed for the worse.
    • Silver, Champagne, and Steel Gray on every 20th-century vehicle except for the Bolide, BX, Covet, Miramar, '96 Pessima, and Lansdale have inexplicably been robbed of their metallicity.
    • Charcoal is inconsistent between vehicles, being flat on some and metallic on others (in the former case, Carbon Gray has taken its place as the metallic dark grey paint for some reason).
    • Deep Plum on the FCV is the only paint name still in English, sticking out like a sore thumb amidst the other French paint names. If the Wydra's paints were renamed to Polish, what's stopping this change from being applied to this one paint on the FCV (plus all of the ETK paints except for Technetium and Vulkan Schwarz)?
    • Medallion Gold on the Nine, despite its 50% metallicity, lacks the usual metallic finish due to the base roughness not being high enough (the Special's Medallion Gold looks much more appropriate, with plenty of base roughness).
    • Mica on the Piccolina and Stambecco is completely flat with zero metallicity (or, well, mica), so it should be renamed (or made metallic as per the above).
    • Frozen Dust on the 800 and K-Series lost its matte finish, which is especially unfortunate for the 846 Knallhart (a matte finish or satin wrap being particularly in character for a modern aftermarket German car).

Basically, even if it's the same color, the color tone is slightly different for each manufacturer, and all the cars on the list are from a time when metallic paint was rare...
Pearl mica paint was introduced for luxury vehicles in the 1990s, and became widely available in the 21st century.
It wasn't long ago that today's 3- or 4-coat high-gloss metallic paints became a common option for regular cars.

I think it has most likely been mentioned here before, but whats with the general state of inconsistency with smooth needles on gauges and smooth animations for the indicator stalks and stuff?
I might be going crazy, but it seems like some vehicles that used to have smooth stalks have since lost them, and some random vehicles still have them.
Same goes for gauges although that's more-so that its been haphazardly added to some cars and not some others.

If a small detail like that is going to be in the game, I'd rather have it be consistent across all vehicles within reason (excluding ones that have not had a refresh/remaster in a long long time). Otherwise, it just irks me to the point where I wish it wasn't implemented on vanilla vehicles at all.

This is the Discord feedback post that inspired me to dig deeper. You can't tell me that any of those silver paints don't look factory.

Other historic examples include Inari Silver (late 1970s/early 1980s, VW), Oro Chiaro (1970s onward, Ferrari), Thunder Silver (late 1960s, Toyota), Ivy Green and Ivy Gold (1960s, Ford), Azzurro Vincennes (Lancia, Maserati, and Ferrari, 1960s), Sierra Gold and Inca Silver (late 1950s, Chevy), and even paint made with fish scales (later aluminum flakes) in the '30s.

My 1980 AMC has metal flake paint and there were so many metallic paints in the ‘60s and ‘70s and before. My grandpa had a metal flake gold 1970 Caprice Classic in the ‘70s and here’s a vintage Nova ad with metal flake
    IMG_1208.jpeg
I bet more ‘70s Chrysler C bodies had metal flake than didn’t

Yes, of course. But I said 'uncommon'.

And "uncommon" =/= "nonexistent". Besides, some cars have straight up chrome as a selectable paint (calling it "factory" is a stretch, but it's there), so why not silver?

The chrome "paint" only exists to serve as the default for the chrome parts that are colorable for some reason. We are really unhappy with that decision but it's a surprisingly high amount of work to fix it properly by making the chrome parts just not colorable. At some point we will have to fix it because it constantly causes issues with various systems that can spawn cars in random colors and stuff

Apologies if this question comes off as obvious from a dev perspective, but I assume that'll also involve splitting paints into "factory" and "aftermarket/custom" (e.g. H-Series Furious Orange and LeGran Uncomfortable Pink)?

That's entirely another thing that also has to be done because we have way too much paint variety per car

Would a paint mimicking plastic parts also be added in the future? I think I've seen one named plastic something on one car, but I can't remember which. The combination can sometimes look really good, like the bottom half of the Sunburst, or the entire bottom of the Roamer (sides included), makes them look like they have extra plastic padding.

We would rather add actual plastic panels there rather than mimicking this with paint. You can make your own custom colors anyway

That makes sense. I was just using this to add extra "plastic padding" where there is currently none. Would I be able to find the exact values in the materials file that I could then configure in the paint picker? Or is the material configured differently from paints?

The color will be in the baseColorMap and the roughness setting in roughnessMap, all the others are set to 0 for plastic
