    The rocket powered Gavril-MD murder bus doesn't have the "radiator protection" installed. It feels really weird that it does not have it all things considered.

    That was my main grievance with the Miramar and they didn't fix it.

    Your new bus is epic!!! this now opened up new avenues for bus driving and other bus related activities! There a few things minor things to note. So the school buses, I noticed some of the text is too low resolution, such as the one by the doors with the bus rules etc. The emergecy windows flip up but then just come back down? is that right?? The right door on the bus is a bit "floppy". I can't seem to do a basic vehicle modification and have the bus plain color with no school or prison light kitout yet but maybe you could add other varians now? there was a mod called Freightliner FS-65 which covered house bus, city shuttle as well. House bus was best driven in Manual and with the "shortie" frame from memory.

    Not sure if anyone else posted this but the hi/ low range on the MD bus does not work properly with the keybinds. says parts not installed when you go in options to set the key binds, even when it is installed. works fine if you click the icon by the speedometer though. Did not test with the bank truck

    Also, in case anyone is wondering why the paint on ALL the cars look different compared to pretty much the last 10 versions of the game. I was wondering too. And as someone who spent way too much time mixing custom paints (see pics lol), I think I can see what they changed with it.

    So the paint configuration menu has five sliders that are manipulated to create different paint effects. Chrominess does nothing and as far as I know had been redundant since PBR in 0.23.

    • Brightness: self-explanatory; 100% is always white, 0% is always black
    • Saturation: also pretty obvious, 100% is very rich and 0% is greyscale (aka why black has 0 saturation and 0 brightness)
    • Clearcoat: amount of clear coat on top of the paint, this used to be 100% by default on all paint colors, 0% is matte, 50% is semigloss etc.
    • Roughness: in older versions of the game this was always 100% on solid colors (aka non-metallic) and 50-65% on metallic colors. However if you keep the Metallic slider at 0 and adjust this slider, it will make the paint look more faded (?) or sunburnt, especially with less clear coat. Weirdly enough, once it drops below 30% it starts to look shiny again, which is why most of the solid colors in 0.36 has a Roughness value of around 10% without clear coat, as a comparison:

    • Metallic: this works with the Roughness slider to, well, simulate metallic paint. You can increase Metallic and decrease Roughness to make the car look more metallic (see below)

    Here's where things get a little bit more... erm, nuanced, should we say. You can probably see that the paint gets darker the more Metallic it is, for example I didn't change anything except that and the Roughness slider. So if you want your metallic paint to roughly have same hue as the solid variant, you have to increase the brightness to compensate.
    Another thing is you can actually adjust saturation with the Metallic slider. This only works if the roughness has been set close to maximum as anything less wouldn't look like solid paint anymore. For some reason this works especially well for darker colors. For example, say you want a rich burgundy color, and you've already maxed the Saturation slider. Once you go below a certain brightness level your red would start looking more and more like brown whatever you do. To compensate for this, one can up the Metallic and bump up the brightness a little bit. I'm pretty sure a bunch of the Bastion's paint colors used to do this. Examples below.

    So, why did the devs rehash everything? As in the slider settings. I think this has something to do with Career Mode. If you played career mode, you would've noticed that there were several options for types of paints. "Factory", "Gloss", "Metallic", and "Custom", the latter of which is just picking one of the custom colors you saved. And apart from the that one and the "Factory" option, which is the default palette for the select car, there's an additional option for the clearcoat. There were 3 suboptions below "Gloss" (gloss, semigloss, matte) and 3 below "Metallic" (metallic, semi metallic, chrome). One thing I noticed was that even if you picked a factory color and chose one of these options, the finish looked different compared to what you usually see. The paint looked... smoother I guess? Could be the lack of clear coat, or the different slider values, but here's a picture of what a default factory color looked like, and what it would look like with a normal gloss setting in Career Mode.

    I think the devs remade all the factory colors to reduce redundancy. Since clearcoat is optional in Career Mode, why have paint colors with clearcoat already applied on them? Maybe they're planning to revamp the way the painting logic in Career Mode works, so they're removing the old paint setting or it could get repetitive or outdated. Probably saved some file space too. And it's not like you can remove the clear coat unless you spend more money on repainting the car with a matte finish.

    I think the new paint colors also look a little more factory-shiny, if not kinda weird plastic-y, not gonna lie, but that could be just me for being used to what paint looked like since 0.23 until this update. But I guess they're trying to make it more realistic, since enamel and acrylic lacquers do sometimes have that waxy look in real life.

    Why did the ability to start a scenario by pressing the throttle key go away a few updates ago? Enter and space bar work but now the throttle which is the most convenient

    that is what it is. there is only a automatic and 5 speed manual shifter option for the school bus interior. Did not even realize that until now

    Okay now the Burnside bench seat has disappeared. I think it's due to the parts selector highlighting things.

    I'm surprised there is no "damaged" engine managent with the rusty paint. What it does is introduces a rough running engine that shuts off if left idling for too long and it chews fuel much more and potentially has other permanent issues that affect performance.

    Don't know if this is only on my end but 0.36 might have broken the automated vehicle performance testing. I open the batch file after adding the correct vehicle/pcfile in the json, it loads into the testing map, and does nothing with a default d-series and messed up physics. Is the automated testing broken or am I just dumb and potentially doing something wrong?


    EDIT: Deleted the mods in my repo folder (they were still disabled idk why it conflicted), now it works.
