It takes forever to do something with these insane load times. It takes me almost 10 seconds just to swap out a single part.
Ah ok, thanks. Its weird though as the CPU usage never changes at all when going across a bridge or interacting with a mesh object: Are they also only calculated on one thread or something?
Each vehicle calculates its own collisions (on its own thread).
So if you have only one vehicle spawned, you'll see only one CPU (or two because GFX is on another CPU) utilized.
My suspicion with AMD CPUs is that it might be the memory subsystem that is affected. Static collisions need to do a lot of random memory accesses which might be affecting the CPU caches.
T75 has issues with the hood detached.
The hood is separated from the truck, but if the trucks drives you can see the hood following it, turning around, and if your shake the hood with the node grabber you'll see the truck shaking as well.
So it seems to be still attached even if it's not visually the case.
And great updates, you devs are reading in your followers minds, i was thinking the node grabber wasn't powerfull enough and was about asking how to modify it eventually today, and bang! A new super powered grabber ! Thanks a lot !
And the exhaust smoke and steam is just a dream.
AH, forgot to mention : i have no custom orange skin with the Sunburst custom, ,not loaded with the car, not available in the selector.
Well, i have a few compliments and a few complaints I really like this update. kinda. The new thermals are awesome as are all the new configs and scenarios. The thermals are really in depth and awesome. I usually dont complain about this game but here i go. What i dont like is the fact that ctrl r doesnt respawn you back on your wheels. and yes i know you can just use node grabber, but its 1 more step. The update also ruined the ground model on my favorite map, crimson valley. Its no longer sticky like sand and i cant flip cars on it anymore. And lastly, the loading times. its horrid. everywhere. trying to load car configs, trying to reset scenarios, loading a car. it can take a while.
all this makes me glad that i backed up 5.2 as im going back to playing that until loading times are better i guess, since thats only real fixable one, the others are just side effects.
I can't seem to get my vehicle back onto it's wheels after rolling it, it keeps my vehicle upside down even if i switch to a new vehicle. Am I doing something wrong?
We are looking into this.
For now, what I can suggest it to not reload the vehicle when it's flipped. Simply tap R to reset it first. Or use nodegrabbing to put your vehicle back on wheel.
Works correctly here. Make sure you don't have some files conflicting around.
Can I ask how you turn on that heat display thing thats in most of the pictures?
have not panel with data about engine, also have not radiator smoke and exhaust pipe smoke
Engine Thermals Debug App.
How to use Apps: http://wiki.beamng.com/Editing_UI
For the smoke, read the #1st Post, there is a brief explanation on how things works.
The little wooden bridge on JRI pops all your tires, no matter the vehicle or tire.
No exploding tires.
Can you take a video or something?
No. sorry lol I was waiting on a gfycat, but a video will have to do
4 different cars, 4 different tires and so far they have all popped every time no matter the speed.
So I went to change the graphics settings, more specifically the shader from medium to low (not that its too relevant) and the beamng window flickered like crazy about 30 times and closed with no warning.
Log reports a window size change, which I never did.
I've no Sunbirst related mods, and i have only the gendarmerie and the two police liveries in the selector. Orange and rally skins are not loaded.
The console says something like ; material script not updating material.cs due to ref etc etc... when creating the Cdae it seems.
I'll do a clean reinstall after deleting to see if it corrects the issue.
i am getting like 35-40 fps on ECA in the new update. I used to get 60. i7 5820k and gtx 970. Not a big deal it's still playable but just mentioning it.
When you full-reset your car (R), it preserves the rotation you had before you reset, similar to a semi-reset (INSERT). I think the intended behavior should be that whenever you full-reset, it should use the rotation you had when you did the reset.
ETK 800 salon temp gauge is not working, not sure about the fuel one. Also ETK 800 drives under water just fine...
I think it takes a bit too long to kill an engine. I overheated the engine and continued to rev it in redline till I got bored and engine was still running with damaged head gasket and pistons. After about 15 minutes I got bored and engine was still working fine.
Is it just me, or the radiator seems too easy to damage (by a small jump and a 25 mph hit)?
Also, I found that when you choose an option in the vehicle parts selector, the expanded selector menu revert back to normal, and IIRC, in the last update, it doesn't happen to be like that.
As soon as I spawn in the D-series thermals debug works fine. If I switch to any other vehicle the debug disappears like in the image below. And BTW I don't know why but the rear doors and my windshield dissapeared on the ETK 800
