I have no mods currently, just reinstalled the game, and that happens to me. So I'm pretty sure it's normal.
    --- Post updated ---
I don't think there is an alternative.

No.. If that doesn't work, a clean reinstall is your best option.
    Follow these exact steps:
    -Unistall BeamNG from Steam
-Delete BeamNG.Drive folder from MyDocuments (backup your mods if you want, but don't put them back yet!)
-Delete BeamnG.Drive folder from Steam/Steamapp/common (If there is still a folder)
    -Reinstall BeamNG.

Engine flooding is currently a simple approximation.
For example, it's likely that the engine would stall in that situation (neutral gear) instead of hydrolocking; but we do not currently simulate any kind of engine stalling, so we compromise by forcing hydrolocking a while after stalling would have taken place in real life.
Additionally, the hydrolocking needs some improvements in the drivetrain simulation before it can correctly react to engine load, and so uses engine rpm instead for the time being.

For these reasons, the engine flooding is not going to be 100% realistic in all cases, but it's at least a bit more realistic than before (where it would flood apparently randomly, killing the playability when traversing masses of water).

In any case, if there are some blatantly incorrect cases, where the behaviour is extremely unrealistic, we are happy to hear about them, and it's helpful if we can get actual real life examples and data we can cross-check, in order to improve the simulation (if time allows... we have so many aspects of the game we want to improve).

If you backup your mods to some safe place, you can put them back (FIRST TRY THE GAME WITHOUT MODS! PUT THEM BACK ONLY AFTER THE GAME IS CORRECTLY WORKING)
If you delete the Documents/BeamNG.Drive straight without doing a backup of the mods, you loose them obviously.

If thats the case, then the finish area should be wider. At least for drag races.

I have had this bug for the last 3 updates, I have now deleted everything in Programfiles/Beamng, deleted it from Steam, deleted all files and folders, and then reinstalled the game. The first thing I did in the new game was to remove the Muffler on the Pickup.... And the menu resets itself.... This is not a mod problem gang ;) What I do is open the menu and pause the physics, then it do not reset itself, just a little hint till they fix it :)

Don't think of it as a bug, think of it as an improvement. :)

Also having the parts selector bug, I don't have any kind of recording software so I can't capture it on video, sorry.
Anyone know the reason for it?

i've been thinking about it. there is an error in the code that happens when a part is selected, the menu goes back to a previous look like nothing happened. something for opening and closing the parts on the part selector. and when it happens, i think the best way to get it fixed might by using the support.exe thing

You can easily go on the other side of the broken bridge in Utah simply by using the node grabber...

...and you can also have an amazing view !

Something funky with the pigeon rear axle I noticed. There's no apparent way to change to and from the wider rear axle, other than which part config you select. Look at the parts menus, they're identical, but the pigeons aren't.

The red truck was the more powerful engine, all parts were then swapped back to stock.
The seafoam green was the base model unchanged.

EDIT: Axle can be changed from long to short by removing the rear suspension entirely, then adding it again. No apparent way to regain the wide axle.

Something is hanging down off the old pessima. It breaks extremely easily and then will start on fire.
