I just ordered a gigabyte gtx 1050ti and how does it run beamng and did I make a good choice to pair it with my fx 8350? I would have upgraded my cpu but I want and I5 8400 but ddr4 is just way too much rn and I would have got a 1060 6gb but i'm not paying $800 for a $250 card Heres a link https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125914
I have a 1050 ti, and it works great. You can run nearly all settings max except for dynamic reflection, and get pretty good fps on most maps. I do get somewhat lower fps on WCUSA, about 40fps.
There is more info than you ever could want about that card (looks same as I got): https://www.beamng.com/threads/your-performance-testing-results.37866/ Also check my posts here: https://www.beamng.com/threads/whats-your-general-fps-on-max-settings-on-jungle-map-any.52723/ WCUSA without shadows runs 60fps, with shadows on and 1080p, you have to go low and depending what you are doing that might not be enough, 720p is more manageable.
I have the same GPU and an I7 7700K + 16 GB ddr4 ram and I can easilly run Beam with few cars and dynamic reflections on, but on every mup except WCUSA, where I have to turn the dynamic reflections off to get 60fps. It seems like the game engine has troubles with that single map.
i use a 1050 ti for beam and it runs very well on high settings but very high is a bit too much for bigger maps if you want 60 fps.
