I find it hard to say, but i'll make a roadmap so people can follow what parts i'm working on and what are still planned.
Alright I made a roadmap where you can see what I planned. https://mrtherich.notion.site/Everton-4-46020ff0fccc49f59d2723fc16e24707 As you can see to get the full dev level quality mod with all the customization and variants, there is still a lot to be done. This road map will help me stay on track as well, and just pick out things one by one to do over time. I can switch between doing small parts like different wheel types and big parts like different body styles.
I mean it was a crazy feat. On a lucky day you'd be surprised if you touch the 60mph. My worn '29 ford can barely get to 55mph. So yeah 100MPH is what the only fancy 8cyl boys like Packard and Duesenberg could reach.
Happy to show you guys some progress. I've been working on some of the items that shows how much fun configuring the car will be. Here is a soap box seat with a pickup bed and a hood type with leather straps and no sides.
I'm in a flow this week Here is the (not completely finished) off road suspension. It has a lift of 10 cm. and off-road truck wheels that barely fit in the fenders. The suspension construction is done with period technology using a second rear axle with an offset differential, and recently (for the time) popularized CV joints for the steering.` The idea for this is based on the Off-road Ford Deluxe Station Wagons produced by Marmon-Harrington. Can't wait to rock-crawl with this puppy
I think running boards would make it look too modern. I'm already stretching my lore by making a 4x4 passenger car that only really started being produced in 1938. But I also love the hacky way they did things in the 20s and 30s, so maybe some bolted on wooden planks would look cool as makeshift rock guard rails. Unless you were just talking about the standard step that's normally on the sides. Those are already made of course. What i'm showing here is just random combinations just to show of the new parts i made. none of these are the final configurations in Beam.
Btw I love to see suggestions from old photos of weird custom builds from the 20s, 30s and 40s what they did with their cars. I think the weird and hacky stuff from the past would be fun to bring to live from those photos in beamng can you imagine this in Beam??? How epic
How epic indeed, this is the coolest thing I seen in years, OT, this mod is shaping up to be the most impressive mod I have seen for Beam so far, the latest updates got me salivating looking forward to the release
It's all modular if you look at the Parts Collection on the roadmap page: https://mrtherich.notion.site/Everton-4-46020ff0fccc49f59d2723fc16e24707 you can see that there is "pickup canvas cab" in the planning and I already made the steel pickup bed, so together they make a roadster pickup Btw if you have ideas for different rear builds for the pickup cabs let me know. I now have two types of pickup bed, and the police jail cage. I was thinking about doing a small firetuck bed. But most of the buildups will come with a future truck version of the Everton with a heavier chassis (like proper fire trucks, wreckers, mailtrucks, tankers etc)
I'm not going to make a model T, that requires totally different chassis and body shape model. But you can paint the Everton 4 Tudor black and it will look kinda like it. Maybe i'll add some wooden spoked wheels
