-------OUTDATED------ STRYDER MOTORS: FULL STEAM AHEAD!Stryder Motors is a fictional filipino car brand that crafts high quality steampunk inspired vehicles 1944 STRYDER PROPELLERThe year 1944 Stryder began its journey in Bacolod City Philippines. The 1944 Propeller is built as the first car Stryder built, balancing both Steampunk and reality as the designers were huge steampunk fans. The propeller was originally a prototype, it wasn't intentionally meant for production until they showed the car to the people and they loved it, in a total of 300,000 cars sold but Stryder didn't build new generation of propellers after 1944 and beyond. Some of you have seen this on the Dev. Screens and are intrigued why I made a rear engine front wheel drive car, because why not? Progress of this car will now be posted in this thread The 1944 Propeller is a steampunk inspired 4 door vehicle with a peculiar Rear engine, Front wheel drive system. One of my favorite fictional cars I've designed! WHAT DOES THIS CAR HAVE? - Rear engine, Front wheel drive - Steampunk inspired design - Dashboard Shifter - Front solid leaf spring Axle - Rear beam leaf spring axle - Brake drums on all wheels - Power steering (Taken from a semi truck) WHAT'S NEXT? I'm currently planning on my next car, the 1947 Stryder Steamcrank a 2 door muscle car powered by steam and uses water as fuel, then after that? I don't know, maybe a front mid engine, front wheel drive, 4 door car? ENOUGH TALKING AND PICTURES BELOW! Wow! I don't know why but I was expecting an airplane... I was not disappointed in what I see anyways! This thing looks awesome! Plus with that drivetrain layout... this thing would certainly be rather strange to drive!
I remeber the last time that i've seen a mid engined something that doesnt had a low center-of-gravity like an mr2 or a ferrari:
Thanks for the positive feedback everyone! I really appreciate it! I agree, I'll tweak it when I'll get back to it It's meant to be a rear engine, fwd Propeller is the car's name, the reason why it is called propeller because of the rear engine, FWD drivetrain and its Propeller shaft transfers the power to the front wheels
I was quite surprised to discover this car in the Development screens thread. Keep up the good work ! Also, the layout will sure be interesting to drive.
Looks pretty cool, I really like the steam punk design. I think there are some improvements you could do though, main one I see is the front firewall and floor, they are way too close to the drivers seat so there wouldn't be much leg room and the pedal positioning would be pretty uncomfortable. Maybe try extending the floor and firewall a bit and lower or shorten the pedals if needed to get more space. Also the leading edge on the bonnet is really noticeably sharp, getting rid of the edge spit on that and using some control loops would help a lot, maybe rounding it off a bit more too, but that's just preference.
With the skinny passenger compartment and the position of the wheels, I thought it looks like a dune buggy converted to a 1940s sedan with an uncomfortably small cabin. If this comes out, I think it would be awesome to use as a wrecking machine with huge all-terrain vehicles
