Hey guys, I just did some digging (like usual) and watched some old videos of the mod form people like SpeirsTheAmazing and Neilogical, and found that some original parts from the mod are actually not in it anymore, like the 200mph speedo, firestone tires, the the uncovered 'foglight' from Herbie Rides again. IDK why they were removed, but if possible, do you think it'd be possible to see them return in a future update, @MrX13415 ? IDK if you're still involved, working on, or even interested in this mod nowadays
There is no particular reason for not having a 200mph speedo. I can add one again. I think it went away when I overhauled the speedometers. The foglight can't be opened because there is no mesh under the cover and it's not usable anyway. The plan is to make it usable. I just haven't done it yet. I've improved the Goodyear tires, but making tire textures is pain. Not in the mood of adding more of them. lol
Thats valid, can't say I blame you tbf! If it makes the texturing and adding process easier, I give you full permission to use the 200mph one I made and sent in here. It was custom made for a GTA V Herbie mod I was making with a friend, but we got busy and the project fell though, so if it gets use here, at least it doesn't go to waste!
"When this baby hits 88 miles an hour..." That looks so so sick tho! I love it! And I LOVE the 7-8k RPM tacho too!!!
Hi Mr X, I was wondering if you can add the halogen effect to the speedometer. The ignition lights and blue high beam light have it, but the main one doesn't. Also, I've noticed that there are some 56' parts like transmission and gear ratio. Is this a hint for the future? I know it probably isn't though, lol.
Hey guys, just finished up on an update to the “Jim Douglas Era” Config Pack, which gives everything a properly associated spec sheet and value + adds comparability with career mode (both base game and RLS), but it seems that Mr. X is working on a new update to be dropped soon (NOT CONFIRMED!) Would you guys like to see my config pack update release tonight, or wait for Mr. X’ Beetle update, and then release afterward?
Hi @Bugster , was looking around for the hell of it and found this 3D model of a 1938 beetle that doesn't look too bad, thought I would just share it to see what you think. https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/kdf-typ-38-7a246b187ad84b9583548b60a4348ea4 Gotta admit, I like what you're doing, especially considering that I had a toy model of Herbie in my toddler years that I played with almost everyday!
Hey man, I’m just a fellow Herbie/63’ Bug lover like a lot of you guys are! I just also have a WICKED bad case of OCD and get enjoyment out of remaking 1:1 recreations of cars/builds!
Two things, @MrX13415 , the car sits a bit too low, if you could consider getting that fixed. Second, a non-covered foglight would be really nice as this was an option for the real thing in 1963, thanks!
the non-covered fog light actually used to be in the mod, if you go digging back in time! I think like most other parts (like what he said with the speedo) it was just lost when other parts got overhauled/upscaled or anything like that! I’m sure it’s probably around in the mod or personal files somewhere, just not currently available! --- Post updated --- Also, I’m going to see if I can’t find a way to get my hands on the NFS Beetle model, and I own the game, and potentially send those aftermarket part models to be used for future content updates! (Only if Mr. X would be willing!) otherwise I can try and learn how to J-beam and send them the files. I may not be able to model, but I sure as hell can type numbers and press buttons!
Update: I have no idea wth I am doing. I can't seem to find any single model with the Frosty Editor for export with NFS Unbound... If someone out there also owns either NFS Heat or Unbound on PC, PLEASE give this a shot, because I am 100% confident in the fact that I am just dense and not skilled enough to figure out how to grab the VW bug parts... Sorry to get ur guys hopes up if you read this...
