I thought of that myself, but as you already pointed out, it's a lot of work. It's on my list thought. Please be more specific about your problem, so it can be solved. They already exist in the previous version of the mod. I've disabled them because the 3D model looks really wierd. I will add them back in the next update.

License plate light flickers at some angles when driving from orbit view. Removing shadow casting from trunk.jbeam flare corrects it, but then the light would need to be realigned.
Herbie gets angry too quickly, for example I went over a curb and a hubcap fell off. He gets super angry.
Wouldn't you be angry when you were a car and lost a hubcap? It's like being a human and randomly losing a shoelace
There are still some rough edges. The previous version didn't have hubcaps which can fall off, so the script does not really account for that. I will definitely improve the Herbie stuff.
