Begging won't get you much of anything, the modder will make whatever they feel is a proper addition.

I absolutely love this mod when i first saw it i instantly downloaded it and every since then i used it everytime

I think you could modify the vw logo to look like the "AW" logo, that is a lore friendly brand in the game mod community, the creator don´t care using it, and the mod

 

It doesen't have facelifts ? It only has a second generation

 

Or the bug facelits it self, i mean, would be a lot of work
But the only BIG changes on the outside happend in the 80s

We'd actually like to do a modpage version one day. But that means all branding must go. (Not sure about the name "Herbie" but quite possible also.) The AW logo is one option.
This version with VW branding and Herbei name will remain thou and also be updated.

This could stay a VW on the forums, but there could be an AW version for the repo
