There is not a single mod on the repository having a real brand name or badge. Forums is a different story, which is the reason for this mod to be splitted, explained a couple times already.
I have some suggestions for potential future updates. - Backfires for the junkers - I really like those parts that hide the lights on the codename Oldsfullsize prototype. Could it be considered to make them available addons for the Delta 88 and the Regency? - Offroad stuff? I hope these don't come off as annoying. And look at this I came across. This made me so mad. Whoever did this must have poor taste in cars.
" Oldsmobile's 5.7-liter diesel, which appeared from 1979 to 1984 on the Delta 88, was a bigger problem--a converted gasoline engine that was just a disaster. It would "smoke," demonstrating "rough idle" and "reduced performance," according to service bulletins." thats why that car was included. also there was an RX2 on that list aswell.
Hey Both of you, you guys are obliged to be quiet right now. Some people's wifi, or their browser, Some people cant download it because of those reasons, and some can, all we can do is hope it downloads for some people.
I'm happy you finally found what you were doing wrong or the download issue you have. What i disliked a lot was the "i'm asking a second time" about something that was answered by many people several time with even a tutorial to explain how to save two files in the same folder. And you quoted your previous post where you were asking why it's not just one file. Copyrighted Brands are excluded from the repository by the BeamNG EULA. So i created a prototype car as a key to "unlock" the addon content, the real content of the mod. - i'll add backfires when they'll be available in game - those parts are really quickly done as masks, but why not. - For offroad stuff, you have a sneakpeak in the trailer by CryDev. - The Oldsmobile Diesel was an engine released to early, before the development was really finished so it was unreliable because of big mistakes : gasoline head gasked bolds, not enough of them on earch cylinder head, and a badly designed fuel filter without water separator. When fixing all those issue with improved parts, the upgraded engines are very reliable but have still to be driven quietly. I have to rebuilt and upgrade my engine. But the legend about the engine being a converted gasoline engine is completly wrong, the engine casting is way thicker than a gasoline one, and this engine is used to make gasoline street machine or Nascar replicas because it's way stronger than the gasoline, to resist to the highest compression ratio. That why i wrote that the street legal engine and dragster are "LF9 based" it's the name of the diesel block. --- Post updated --- Hey, i have plenty of work today but i'll try to write it in the first message : IMPORTANT NOTICE : about modding my mod, as i had already several permission asked in private, all that is allowed now is to do skins. About parts additions, i'd rather that you make suggestion or speak to me in private about what can be done or not, because i would like to keep a constant quality in what can be added to it. So no "two hours" parts addition and so on. The car has yet some very wip feature like the derby and race cars, but all of that will be improved in future release. Please understand that it was a lot of work, and also it's my mod so i keep the hand on improving it. So also, unless it's really well done with attention to the details, and permission asked, it's not allowed as well to mod the existing skins of the cars. So i'll say, have fun with the skins, then suggest what you would like to see in V2.0.
Hear Hear! The very same explanation i must have given at least 25 times to people interested about my '79 Diesel 88, especially when people ask why i busted my old engine. Poeple always seem to suggest ditching the diesel and lift in a petrol engine but that isn't the point in my eyes. When it works properly the diesel is a very nice car to drive and it is in fact very economical for such a old car that is so big. If i might chip in on the FPS question, i have a i7 3820 processor @3,6Ghz and a Geforce GTX 780 and i can handle 2 - 4 Oldsmobiles without major issues depending on map. Sure there can be lagspikes when impacting at high speeds but hey, i mostly play those out on slow motion to enjoy the mayhem so i don't bother. Quality comes at a price in my mind, and this isn't RoR. About installing i don't have any idea to what people are doing wrong. It literally took me the simple steps of downloading the 2 files and placing them in the correct folder. There is a guide to installing mods right on the Mods tab. It was a matter of placing the folders, starting the game and get driving. Anyway, i have experimented with crashing this car extensively and i found that it's only real weak spot is the front chassis. it is quite easy to knock the wheel loose from the chassis so it will not steer anymore but i guess that is the way with GM cars . EDIT: Accidentally pressed quote on my own post instead of edit. Sorry about that.
About the fps issues, I don't have any fps drops with this car while beam normally runs at 30-50fps with one car I have an i7-6700hq with 8gb ddr3 and a 950m
I have a suggestion for the shouldnt run but does engine. Instead of it having that sound, you could enable all 3 of the damages (Head Gasket, Blown Rings, Spun Bearings), or keep the sound and enable them. And sorry about my other messages
Sorry i missed your message. Thanks for the info. I'll rename the stig into the jbeam to avoid this crash. No problem for your previous messages. You didn't tell what was the issue finally, but hopefully it works. About the sounds, and so on, they is room on such a mod and such a game, for improving stuff forever . The engine is not weaker than a regular one, because in my mind it was an engine that shouldn't work, so it's more like a John Carpenter's Christine, a ghost car. It works with sand in the oil. The part name is "V8 ghost" in the jbeam. What did you found ? The maine plate ? It must be a regular one in BeamNG ? Also celebrating the first skin mod for the cars : Available in Ashtonneale23 taxi pack mod
This is a BRILLIANT mod! As an older guy, I have to say this mod brought back all kinds of memories. Wow! Here's my first look at playing with some of the models:
