Yes, you do use Blender, but not until after you've learned how to use it, and more specifically, the proper polygon flow for BeamNG vehicles (and how to normal-map your panels). @Car8john posted some good resources earlier in the thread; I recommend you read them.
Hey, don't be so brutal. I have faith that this will see the light of day but I do have to agree that you really should've opened this thread when you had more progress but I'm glad we might get an 80's hatchback. I'm currently making a chevrolet sonic (because I think we need modern hatchbacks that I think are underrated irl) and blender is a pain in the booty but after like an hour you get use to it fairly quickly. I would recommend this video if you're new to 3D modeling and you want to make a car but I would recommend that you instead model a cone and jbeam it so you have an understanding of both. If you don't know the UI and shortcuts this guy pretty much tells you all at a good pace.
I can offer myself as a helper with modeling & giving some modeling tips, as I started the Brutus B1 without knowing anything about modeling, yet I made it (but it's still to be released). Feel free to PM me
blender is on steam???? how tf am i just now seeing this i bet that makes updating blender a hell of a lot easier than uninstalling and reinstalling every time
@CarsRFun I was watching his tutorial, until I realized I couldn't find any blueprints for the Chevy Citation.
You can search on Google pictures of the car you are doing tho, like, search the car's front, side, top and rear part and just in case, the engine.
Bruckell is not Chevy for the last time. Bruckell is a mix between Ford and Dodge, get that on your mind.
This is a great tutorial for beginner Blender users, I am currently progressing through this tutorial when I have time. https://www.udemy.com/blendertutorial/
Long story short, you should not have made a thread if you don't even know how to use blender. That's like a newborn baby trying to run a marathon. Nobody reply to this thread anymore until he actually has some progress.
Well, I made a thread when I didn't know how to use Blender & it's still there... Still going strong, although a bit slow
@Lucaas I agree, I'm sorry that I fell off the grid here, just had Thanksgiving stuff and all. I'll post my progress.
I have decided to try and work at this, so my other threads will probably lack for a bit. --- Post updated --- Quick question, do photos work the same way as blueprints?
Not really. The main difference between a photo & a blueprint is the perspective. You use the blueprint as the base for the car & then you use photos as a help or guide to see exactly how a thing looks. Never the other way, as it won't work, unless you're perfectly precise with your photos (which would take hours of adjusting for just one of them)
