You have to change to another car that doesn't get effected by the change, then go back. Its really annoying. Thats how it is with mods.
The jbeam loader. That would refer to the new system for loading in the cars. A lot of jbeam data underwent significant changes. If this is the case for you then you should try to find red console messages concerning jbeamdata in lua files. If so then you should check if the lua file in question has been updated as opposed to 0.19 .
it just fixes the instablility problems, so the spedo no longer says weird things, and parts of the car arent invisible after a big crash.
I had made quite some changes take effect with ctrl+r, but I'm not sure (yet) if that goes for all changes. Before 0.20 there were certain changes that only took place after rebooting the game too.
But now things like mods don't work. If you install a mod, you have to switch to a car that is not affected by it, and then switch back.
Yeah, for me that used to be exclusively just with materials files... like if I was messing with the materials and then tried to reload them, that never worked... but I never had it do this.
I think you read me wrong.. I'm saying that yesterday I was working on the CH Classic and my changes DID take effect with ctl+r live on the spot, then I threw in a transmission jbeam file into the user folder and ctl+r didn't work on that one, but that could have been the case too before 0.20 --- Post updated --- If haven't got the time to test much since 0.20 though.
Well, thanks to TrackpadUser's help, he found the issue that was causing me all the errors. It turns out it was just a formatting error (committed by yours truly) that apparently the JBeam loader just didn't care about before... now it does. Good news is that it will be an extremely simple fix. Crisis averted.
Cant wait to download this mod, it will totally help me express the infinite hatred I have towards these machines
Oooooh you're working on it, too? Awesome And also, those wheels look great. Can't wait to drive this thing around.
