Should the "empty" grille be replaced with the one from the Hopper on all hoods?

I assume the last two would act like snorkels correct? Since they have ways to prevent engine flooding.

    Work in progress...

Nothing serious, just didn't like the previous bumper (was too lowpoly) so I made this one, which looks way better :D

    Microscopic update

Just to keep you up to date, I decided to post a message (even though it's been like 2 days)... Yes, I am constantly working on the car making it look better, reworking certain things with which I'm 90% done. Other than that, I have to say that from the jbeam side of things, atv_123 made the car actually be more or less a car, with an actual powertrain, unlike before :p

    I think I found it’s slogan...
    Brutus
    “Less car, More machine.”
@DoveAndPigeonFan for the idea of this amazing slogan:)

Yes I suppose I should actually speak up and say what the hell I have been doing behind the scenes here. Some of these things I may have said before, some I might have not... I don't remember what I said and I am too lazy to read back and see what I said or didn't say before (model forum member of the moth candidate right here) so if you knew most of these things before, then I probably don't look like I have done much, if you haven't, then... uh... SURPRISE!!!

What I have managed to do in the past month or so.
    • Added the fiberglass hood with realistic, flexible rubber straps holding it down
    • Softened the body to act more like aircraft grade aluminium
    • Temporarily added some terrible textures so that I could actually see what on earth I was doing in game
    • Rebuilt the frame and removed 60+ nodes and over 500+ beams
    • Stiffened the frame thanks to the higher node weight I could now use from removing all those nodes
    • Reconnected everything that got messed up via the new node names and numbers of the frame
    • Fixed the reference nodes as they were oriented on the rear axle before (I have no idea how I even did that in the first place)
    • Stiffened up the suspension
    • Recalibrated the suspension travel to make it more realistic
    • Upgraded to the new powertrain code (we have the technology)
    • Added in the torque curve for the Duramax out of a 2006 H1 Alpha (POWAAA)
    • Added engine torque reactions
    • Added engine thermals
    • Added a torque converter for the automatic transmission with a 2.1 to 1 torque amplification (that was the ratio that the Hummers was supposedly)
    • Added in a High/Low range disconnectable transfer case
    • Added in realistic Torsen differentials (if your stuck with a couple of tires spinning, light pressure on the brakes locks everything up and lets you power through almost anything)
    • Fixed the brakes (they used to jitter like crazy... reaction nodes must be off the centerline of the wheel... lesson learned)
    • Added brake thermals
So yeah... I have been kinda busy... although that is just a drop in the bucket for what is yet to come. Stay tuned.

    What's left to fix:

Not a whole lot honestly... first thing, since the amount of torque this thing generates at the wheels is over 10,000Nm in first gear low range, so I am having a slightly difficult time keeping the wheels on center when climbing hills. When the wheels are grapeling for traction and only turning at about 5 RPM or so they tend to wobble around a bit... granted the real one did the same thing... but nowhere near as drastically... so some more stiffening is in order to keep them from doing that. I am thinking some really heaving damping might do the trick.

And second, the steering on a hummer is pretty tight for its size, so I am having a small issue with the wheels liking to invert when too much force is applied to one at max steering angle... I have a pretty good idea of how I can fix this though... I think...

Last, just stiffen the tires up a bit and add in the new code for more grip off road... still haven't looked up how to do that yet.

As for things to do... hehe... there are a few:
    • Add N/B and mesh for Diffs
    • Add N/B and mesh for driveshafts and animate them
    • Add N/B and mesh for tailgate
    • Add meshes for all headlights, tail lights, and turn signals
    • Add glow maps for all lights
    • Add N/B and mesh for all exhausts and connect them for functioning smoke
    • Add N/B for 3 other body types (honestly the easiest thing in this list)
    • Add N/B and mesh for doors
    • Add N/B for proper steering system (how long have I been saying I need to do that?)
    • Tune some of the parts for crashing a bit better (right now it's like having a collision with a vault)
    • Add meshes for snorkle
    • Add N/B and mesh for radiator
    • and probably some other stuff I am forgetting at the moment...
All in all... not a whole lot (I know, some of you are looking at that and are like how the hell is that not a lot) but most of it is all N/B work which I can spit out at a pretty ridiculous rate when I actually get time to sit at my computer. Things like animating the driveshafts and adding glowmaps to the lights will probably take me longer than everything else combined.

Ok thanks for the info, oh one more question, will the military version be able to flip over on its roof if it looses speed on a high incline and do this

When you do release it, I suggest password locking the ZIP and make the password an English sentence so when Ivan tries to steal it Google Translate just translates the password (Also don't use Password:, I'd use something like p-word: so google doesn't translate it.)

If a real one can do it, then this one will be able to do it... that being said... that Hummer in the video is a modified hummer from the Hummer Ohio Extreme Squad... I think the hood is chopped and remounted, plus the tires are much bigger than standard, so that they stick out further than the actual front of the truck. A stock Hummer would be incapable to doing that wall climb... a stock Hummer is limited to a wall of just 22 inches, which in all actuality... is still pretty darn good.

As for flipping over if it loses speed, I am unsure what you mean by this... a Hummer is capable of maneuvering a 60% slope while climbing or descending and a 40% side slope while under full payload for extended periods of time... it can do better than that, but that's what it can do under full payload... While not impossible, you can roll one, but you REALLY have to try to get this thing to go over. You almost have to make it your mission to flip it.

Will we also get the added realism of four inches of play in the steering? ;)
