The author is working on Freightliner fs65 AFAIK, maybe he works on this too, but that's not for sure.
Nah fed , this mod is not dead , the author is currently working on some real life stuff if i remember correctly , once he is done with that , the mod will be continued , consider this mod being on hold . . .
Preparing a modular way to work on 4 cars at once (If you ever wonder why my mods are one giant clusterf-- of jbeam, this is why. I work on the individual parts seperately, and a program combines them into one file) Code: { #rem include suspensions #include ..\..\CART95_INCLUDES\cart95_suspension_f.snip #include ..\..\CART95_INCLUDES\cart95_suspension_r.snip }
So what might happen is because BeamNG's aerodymics were limited a couple years back, we might have to remove ~60% of the collision of the car to get proper aerodynamics. Sucks, but would rather have proper aerodynamics over aerodynamics built almost 100% on workarounds than have multi car crashes work. (This is also the same reason that e.g. the wings on the Antonov have 1/3rd the coltris I wanted them to have, and get stuck in vehicles instead of collide properly. otherwise it wouldn't fly at all) --- Post updated --- Update: May just have to write custom physics code. If that doesn't work, this mod won't work. BeamNG's aerodynamics were simplified to a point where cars like this might be impossible :/
Yeah, I think I'll put this on hold until further notice. Unfortunately some physics optimizations that happened I think ~1.5 years ago have made it so we'd have to compromise quality. We've been having isusesfor years with this, and it's not worth it just to compromise in the end. Will hope for some changes in the future.
Yeah. The mod was like 95% done, then I overwrote a model and had to restart with setting that all up. So I got a bit discouraged and thought "I'll wait till I get motivation back". Come the time when I get motivation back and the mod is not possible anymore :/. And of course, that's discouraging and starts the cycle of losing motivation again.
What exactly changed @Dummiesman that over-simplified aerodynamics in BeamNG.drive? I find it unusual that the devs would compromise aerodynamics when focusing on physics realism especially when aerodynamics is a huge factor in vehicle performance... I understand where you're coming from though, and hope that things change in the future that will allow for this mod to be continued and potentially released.
