Well, A long time ago, my brother was in a car accident, and I got some pictures of the wreckage. He was doing about 35ish MPH on his way home from work at 2:30 AM. Around here, that's when most bars tell the drinkers to get out, and so one decided he would drive, and he ended up doing a hit and run on my brother. T-Bone type accident right before the driver's side rear quarter panel. RWD car, and surprisingly, no mechanical parts that made the vehicle drive where broken. The drunk driver hit him doing about 40 MPH on an angle.

I thought I would post this to show the destruction on his car, so you people working on BeamNG can perhaps model something after it.

IMG_0055.JPG No mechanical parts the made the car drive where broken.
IMG_0056.JPG Glass on the inside piled into crevice in carpet
    IMG_0057.JPG Door hung open.

This car was incredibly tough. Could of been a lot worse in my opinion.

    Thanks for reading!

40mph.. for a 90's American GM car that's really good crash performance for a side impact.

The car was mostly metal, minus the bumpers, which where re-enforced with metal bars underneath. It weighed a lot for being a mostly stock car.

actually, you're right. I never looked it up and always assumed it fell under the GM bracket. Welp, that pretty much explains things.

Yup, i agree, Fords are pretty durable, i own 2 right now ;) An old Mark2 v6 3L Grananda, and a smaller Mark4 1.6L Escort for everyday economy :) Though it surprized me that your 3.8L V8 can only do 145HP, i mean, im not trying to say its a weak engine, because its obviously not, but my stock 1.6i escort runs at 105HP, and its only a small inline4 engine  Nevermind, you have an excellent, and very durable car. I like that thing in older Fords that they are mostly made of pretty thick metal, with very small % of plastic.. The older, the better ;)

Trust me, being in America means you get offered the worst products from the manufactures compared to other places in the world. Ford Europe has been making sweet vehicles for years, and just now they're deciding to sell them here too.

And yes, that 3.8L v6 is a junk motor IMO. Head gasket issues, ZERO power....

I never knew why car manufacturers were doing that  .. i mean, they made some great looking cars from the 60s and early 70s in the US, but those were non-existent in europe, not eaven with smaller european engines, and there were some awesome cars made in europe in the 80s, but none of them went to other regions, like the US.. I mean, for example Ford is an american based company but it became multinational pretty soon (and should we say multicontinental), and i got no clue why their products differ so much from place to place.. And also the extras are a little confusing too, like power-steering, and power-windows were fitted on almost every car in the US from the end of the 60s, but here in europe it only began to be available at the mid-80s in the high-end models, and later on as average equipment. Look at the differences in US and EU models, completely different cars, but under the same name, and manufactured in the same year (still no clue why its like this) :

For example the 1975 Ford Granada Mk1 US version, then the EU version from the same year :
    ford_granada__usa_1975_sedan_4d_1747b.jpg 4930700834_a6cccae44b_b.jpg

I would love to try both :)

The consumer demands are much different in other countries. In Germany, for example, for Ford to compete and sell cars, they have to compete with the very common 3 series BMW so you can imagine the Ford product would need to be much better.

Plus, we got junk engines that can't even pull their own weight because fuel is much cheaper here. Efficiency and power usually go hand in hand...

All true. The only Thunderbird from '89 to '97 you actually WANT is the Super Coupe, even though it only makes 201 BHP. Now, Ford should make more 2 and 3 door cars. Ford Europe have a 2 door Fiesta, and we get stuck with a sedan and a 5 door. Us Americans are stuck with the notion "Bigger is better!", and I am starting to hate on it. I mean, a Econetic Fiesta overseas makes 74.4 Euro cycle MPG. We can only get 40 EPA MPG. What's the dealio?

It was a V6, but yeah it was somewhat weak engine wise, but it was a tough little car. This car is no longer ours. The price to repair it was somewhat....really expensive. My brother bought a newer car with a very nice engine GM made. I miss this Ford though, was fun because he used to pick me up from school all the time in the winter, and since it was RWD, we would always end up drifting out of the parking lot. I don't particularly hate any car manufacturer, but I certainly have a favorite list of vehicles, and this is up there.

Yup, you just can't leave the drift alone in winter with a rwd.. same here :D Its usually a lot of fun until the front tyres lose their grip too and comes that dull understeering when you turn and nothing happens :D ahh.. memories :D GM cars (the little few i drove, and drive) are nice too, i mean sometimes i hop into my fathers Opel (an Omega A) for the longer trips, becouse its a lot more confortable than my small Ford, and its still economic (especially on TNG (gas)), but still packs a nice 115HP and a fair bit of torque out of its 2.0i engine. Its a solid car, though it has some minor problems with rust, but thats probably due to its age. I just cant wait to finish the restauration of my old Ford though, what i drove since the beginning of my driving "carreer".. i believe i wont sell that car ever. Its proven everything a car possibly can, with the drifting, the handbrake turns, the 2000Km trip to the sea and back. Its very confortable, strong and tough as it gets. Good for anything, eaven sleeping in it after an awefully dense night (alcohol wise) :D I highly recommend you to get one :D:)

I just got a 1997 Thunderbird LX, and just to clear things up, GM Is General motors, they own in there American branch; Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, Pontiac (RIP 2009,) Saturn (RIP 2009,) and Cadillac. Foregn GM owns; Opel, Vauxhall, Holden, Autobaojun, Wulingmotors, and Fawjiefang.
Ford owns; Lincoln, FPV, AutoAlliance Thailand, 2.1% stake in Mazda of Japan, a 15% stake in Aston Martin of the United Kingdom, and a 49% stake in Jiangling of China, Troller, and some others.
My Thunderbird has been good to me so far, I got it single owner, with 71023 miles on it, it came with the manual, and service log, along with several gallons of fuel additive, a new tire, an air compressor, spare tire, full service manual, hand written service logs detailed down to when the seats were cleaned, and spare lights, and some other little things, like a tool kit, and K&N air filter.
This all for $2,500 seats are in perfect shape (leather) everything is powered and still works (including the antenna) came with 2 keys and remotes, and all of the documents. it sips fuel for the most part, we bought it when it had half a tank, and got over 100 miles on a quarter of a tank. it even started on a dying battery, it had been sitting for a while so the battery had been covered with corrosion, but it still started right up, we have gotten it cleaned and it works just fine now.
It has the 4.6L V8 SOHC

If you're going to bump a thread for a mistake I made, could you continue reading to see if anyone else has already pointed it out and if I've already acknowledged my mistake?

It would be nice if BeamNG cars deformed like this. Minor fender benders cause interior clipping in the door panels for some reason in BeamNG. Also glass cracks horrendously in BeamNG, it looks so bad for some reason. The front glass doesn't even pop off. So you can crash 100 mph into a wall, and the front glass only cracks.
