Well this "ugly thing" actually looks better than some 80s Japanese cars. Look at this attempt at a GT-R.
Looks like a previous gen Prius caught fire and was put out with a sledgehammer. A crime to car design so heinous SVU won't even touch it. About as pretty as the business end of a bobbit worm. Stylistically makes as much sense as tits on a bull. Genuinely makes me angry when I see it. No doubt has a decent powertrain though.
Then again, 9.6 seconds is is just under a second slower than a cvpi's 8.7 seconds. Plus cvpi's can only go 120-129 mph top speed. It's not that much slower. But I still agree with you, the ad is annoying.
I'm happy to say that I have yet to see one of these on the roads. Don't think they handle that well in the snow anyways.
I have seen quite a few Priuses, and let me tell you, I am not impressed. It sounds like the electric motor on a toothbrush, and it looks like a weird little jelly-bean with spikes on it.

The Prius is an okay car. It might be a little ugly and riced but that is the same for the Covet. I am sure they both top out at the same speeds. If you like the Covet but not the Prius, then you like both inside. They are both Japanese, both drive slow, and got tuned. So to all you Prius haters,
...Wait People actually TUNE Priuses? Why... just why would you choose that thing as a vehicle to tune? it doesn't even really make a good sleeper because it's so damn flashy out of the factory. At least any body modifications that could possibly done to it would be considered tasteful when you see how the rest of the car looks.
No, its just ugly. Far from being futuristic. Its just badly designed. Glad I wont have to see one on the road.
My 06 hustles it's fat ass to 60 in about 7.6 though, It was the 2000 cvpi that had an 8.7 0-60 time due to a poor factory tune.
