To be honest I love the new prius design. You know how they say trends repeat every 30 years? Well, in the 50s we had those crazy over the top american car designs with smooth curves and wood everything. In the 80s (30 years after the 50s) we had weird, boxy cars with all kinds of strange digital dashboards and insane new technology. Nowadays, in the 2010s (30 years after the 80s) we have cars like the Prius. Weird, angular design, pointless shapes, electronically assisted everything, etc. I've also ridden in a prius (admittedly I was barely conscious because I had just come out of the hospital with severe food poisoning) and they are quite comfy, and handle well. The CVT is a bit weird, but I can't really criticize it having never driven one.
Its not boring, but its really ugly. We shouldn't car if a car is boring to look at if it has taste, which was absent in the Prius in all but the second Gen. It's slow, expensive, and not that economical in the real world because you will be thrashing it because it is so woefully slow. Get a diesel hatchback if your lucky enough to live in Europe. in the us, gas is cheap so why bother with an eco car.
Hotel food on a senior trip...never again :/ It's not that slow in practice, despite the numbers you see on a website. Most people who own priuses do city driving, and it's just fast enough for that. Plus, do you really think prius owners are the kind of people who like thrashing a car? ;p The prius is also reliable, practical, smooth, and very space efficient which means that you can use it as a comfy daily driver while getting great fuel consumption. There's a reason they use them as taxis so much.
I love the Prius. The thing that's cool is, I don't know if it's started. I can't even hear a vroom and it drove off.... IT TERRIFIED ME....
the prius was never designed to be a fast nor a fun nor a good looking car. All that i think the prius market will care about is the price, the safety, the comfort, and the MPG.
No, that doesn't mean sport car companies want to not make money. Think what is the purpose of having a job?
What I meant is that I haven't seen a lot of fourth generation Prius's IRL. I have seen second and third generation Prius's IRL though.
