I think 1800kg as the base Bastion is would be a fair weight considering the size. I'll make some of the body parts composite for the high end versions to save some weight. I have one more week at full speed until I start my next IRL gig. Hopefully I'll be done with the geometry/uv/textures by then. Jbeam will probably have a slower progress pace, especially since I don't have experience creating them. The only reason the Giulia has a two piece glass setup on the rear door is the entire windows does not have enough room in the door to wind down completely. The Bastion does not have this issue. I don't have any plans to change this.
I made this mod mostly because I dislike the Bastion's rear end and was disappointed to see all variations including the Rayonner keeping those nasty taillights. Working on it I discovered more things I don't like about the Bastion and a bunch of graphical bugs that annoy me. After I'm done with the Bionetta I might do a remaster of the Bastion and fix things like those silly tiny front doors and huge rear doors.
Updates on the base versions complete with wheels: 1. Base "luxury" trim. Reuses the Bastion chrome door trims, might change these. Single exhaust. Will be available with single and double exhaust tip. 2. Base "sporty" trim. No chrome trims on the front grill or doors. Dual exhausts with single or double exhaust tips.
If you haven’t done so yet, maybe use vivace engines (also shared with the Rayonner mod) for the basic trims In my headcanon I’m thinking that Autobello, Bruckell (and Soliad), Cherrier and Miovi (mod brand, equivalent of Dacia) all fall under the same parent company, and said company has a joint venture with exotic Civetta for technology sharing. I believe the creator of Miovi brand (forgot his name) called it Groupe Cherrier and I’m presuming that they’d be the beam world equivalent of Stellantis
Thanks for suggesting checking out the Rayonner. As I mentioned, I'm also going to reuse the Vivace 4 cylinders but I'm going for my own version, slightly scaled up inform a larger displacement. The Rayonner uses the Vivace engines unscaled and mounted too far forward for the dynamics of an Alfa. My version is mounted mostly behind the frond suspensions for better weight distribution. I'm also going to make the diesel version a bit more distinct, the one in the Rayonner uses the same model as the gasoline version, complete with spark plugs. As far as the "corporate structure", I completely agree with you, that's my headcanon as well. I love the Miovi Citellus/Alden mod, I prefer them to the ingame Vivace. It helps that I own a Dacia Logan IRL and I'm a fan of Dacia since I was a kid. I credit the Citellus/Alden as sparking my interest in starting BeamNG modding with a similar model "rebadge".
I love this mod!!! Can I suggest you some configs? (I know it's a 159, I wanted to suggest the beacon lightbar)
Sure, thanks for the suggestions! I'd like to make this mod as complete as possible as far as configs go.
