That's just how they were though?? It's only because of the upwards-facing side trim and angle that made it look too high.
True, even the 1991 and 1993 Caprice mods that Carface80 released for Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas have this higher rear suspension illusion but even then, I think it was less noticeable than in this mod until I attempted to fix that issue.
wat how I absolutely have no idea about that . I just saw the Caprice on the Wikipedia page and it got normal suspension hight and i thought there is a bug with the mod lol. MSX98FMDnB sorry for wasting your time. Btw the other reason I thought it was a bug is because once I played the mod and I pressed the break pedal and the whole car rolls forward so hard that the front bumper hit the ground and ruined itself. :/
Reminds me of the Idaho in Grand Theft Auto III where if you brake hard enough, the front bumper also scrapes against the ground.
It might be a suspension softness bug but I know for a fact that the height is normal, in terms of the rear being higher up than the front. in fact, alot of cars still do that so they can compensate if cargo is put into the trunk, you just don't see it much because the trunk is usually loaded with a spare tire, warning triangle, ratchet set and a few other tidbits. The picture I got is also from the wiki xD
the ONLY nitpick I have is that the front suspension is too low. As the guy above said, front suspension hits the ground too much.
Those are issues I don't know how to fix. I can ask mehio if he can fix the light beams when he has time to fix them. I remember that mehio said that he doesn't know how to fix the wobbling issue on the rear bumper. Perhaps you or someone else can try to fix it for us.
Agree. btw the car in your pfp was one of my dream car lol. They were taxis at where I live when I was a kid.
I'll modify the front suspension's JBeam. That was an issue I noticed before and tried fixing, but whenever I modified the front suspension's pre-compression value to be equal to the rear suspension, the car got screwed up when I restarted BeamNG.
I noticed that if I make the front suspension's pre-compression value higher than it was before, the body roll is eliminated which is unrealistic because the Caprice is supposed to have soft suspension. --- Post updated --- I'm not going to modify the front suspension anymore. It's just going to cause more problems for me. Live with the "low" front suspension or modify it yourself.
MSX, you've been doing an incredible job with your unofficial patches. My only question is, have you gotten around to fixing the size? It's a bit too large from what I remember.
Alright, is there a way to increase ride height myself then? I know it's unrealistic to do this but it'll be a fix for the problem. Thanks.
That's normal for that to happen. --- Post updated --- I'll see what I can do. I'm away until next Sunday so I don't have my computer with me to continue working on the mod. --- Post updated --- Yes, you can do it by modifying the pre-compression value for the coil springs in the front suspension's JBeam file.
