There's never been a rule against real vehicles if they're uploaded on the forums, they're just not allowed the repo
oh well that's good to know! Can't wait to drive, cruise and of course crash this beast. It looks really well done as always! It's one of the early silvia models so will be interesting to see how differently crashes compared to the others of the same era
Awesome little car, only issue i found is that it is missing sound for turn signals, turn signal stick, hand brake, light switch
As far as I know, the repository does not allow copyrighted content due to potential legal issues. It used to allow such content back when the repository was first announced, but that was several years ago. Generally speaking, this rule applies to real-world brand names and trademarks, but it also extends to assets from other sources, unless permissions were obtained. Otherwise, the main forums is the place to post copyrighted content (with all credits and attributions provided of course). There are a few instances of real-world vehicles being accepted onto the repository under a lore-friendly name, though that is only because the majority of the mod was scratch-made (with a few assets taken from official content). Technically, LJ74 could release the Silvia mod onto the repository under a fictional name as it met that criteria, but just like the DMC DeLorean mod by LucasBE, he chose not to and opted to release the mod here on the forums instead, thus retaining the real-world branding as it was intended. To get back on-topic, this is another high-quality mod from LJ74 as always. I even have a Hot Wheels metal die-cast of the CSP311 Silvia sitting on my desk, so it's nice to see this rare classic Japanese sports coupe in BeamNG
Thank you LJ, very cool mod! Never thought I would fell in love in such small yet fun car. Adorable.
what did you do drive off a cliff?? Amazing work btw @LJ74 looks just like the real thing and the modeling/texturing is honestly on par (or even better) than official BeamNG content look forward to fully enjoying it on various circuits and touges
No i "made a steering sharply at high speed" i dont know if its normal but i dident expect two wheel's to fall of
huh, just tried doing top speed and violently steering but no explosiv wheels, hell even the debug says 0 deformed beams after doing so possibly you hid a bump causing the wheels to break off?
Whatever map you’re on probably has something grabby where you were sliding or turning, or potentially a ledge.
I have also experienced the steering snaping when turning at speed, but it seems like its only with the skinnier tyres, otherwise a great mod.
Great mod, I love the amount of detail! However, it seems like the race disc brakes like to get stuck after braking, it's especially noticeable on the race config at speeds over 70-ish. Thanks for the awesome mod!
quality mod so far. but why does the rear glass break after a minor front impact? so far only minor thing ive noticed. awesome quality vehicle mod! thanks for this neat classic sylvia. beamng needs more antique/old classic vehicles like this, and this mod makes an awesome addition to beamng. EDIT. and another heads up for a minor thing i found. often after a crash, node lf3r and lf3l swings harshly and you can hear the suspension "travel" or rumble while doing nothing. idek if this can be fixed. just though id give a heads up with the findings i find. but so far im absolutely LOVING driving this thing. its freakin AWESOME!!!
Thanks, added to a bug list on the front page. The deform group is probably just too fragile for the rear glass, or i've put some incorrect beams under its deform group
Another bug to report, on specifically right turns it seems the left front tie rod beam likes to break. It can be seen on the Used, Factory, and Highway Patrol configs. You don't even need to be going very fast for this issue to occur, it can happen at speeds as low as ~20mph. Edit: Upon further testing, the issue does not occur with either quick ratio steering upgrades, only the factory option.
as noted by a few above. i also have noticed the stock steering to be quite fragile. ive been trying hard to get the same results with the drift steering and so far it only seems to be the factory stock steering that breaks easily. just having it full lock in reverse, after about a 360 or 2 the tie rod breaks. soo fun to drift this thing tho. loving it, its a blast to drive.
