depends on what you mean. personally i would just import the model and use the reuse the jbeam in the car, make some edits for weight, and copy over the engine's values putting the model into the car has to do with aligning it to the trans and oftentimes making edits to the model (ie this one has a super jank subframe model to gymnastically avoid clipping with the v8 model) but there are also nodeoffset and model translation tricks and things
A little progress update I got the Legran i4 and v6 in Along with their intakes and superchargers. the only thing is that the i4/v6 engines are too far forward. as you can see in the last picture, the v6 is kissing the radiator. I've tried what Akemi suggested but it wasn't working for me, so if anyone has any ideas as to how we can move them please let us know. other than that, I'm hoping that I can get the engines done by the end of this month. Me when the Mustang pulls up.
Looks good, however the engines aren't transverse in the real car, it's longitudinal front-engine rear-drive for all models. Looks promising though!
Well you used the wrong engines anyways as he said from a fwd car and thier j beams so you have to use either other vanilla based mods or the correct engines for that setup im surprised the drivetrain works if at all
yeah, engines would have to be rotated 90deg, aligned with the trans, and a bunch of other fixes likely. (intake, radiatior stuff, belt stuff). it's one of the reason i've had to avoid using the wendover v8 model and i haven't had time to poke at other stuff myself.
There more of a place holder for now, sense I currently don’t have the proper engine models at the moment. I’ll try to find some vanilla ones or get permission to use someone else’s.
the Hopper's I4 model could be used, but I'm not sure about the V6 EDIT: here's some reference photos
legran engines could just be used for models, just rotate the model 90 degrees and do a bit of adapting to the transmission and subframe etc
Well, all we can do is try. I’ve tried moving it in blender and with Jbeam codes, starting to think that moving it would be affected by the engine mounts?
How would that be of any benefit? There's already vanilla engine models, sounds, and editing power figures isn't too hard. --- Post updated --- Also yeah, the mounts may move the engine itself
