In hindsight the legran maybe has the most similar interior to a fox, though i think using bruckell branding would've been the most sinful of the three. i will take a good look at rear axle swaps down the line. --- Post updated --- quite the camera path, also crashing into the curb very advertisement
im gonna be honest this mod kind of feels like a meshslap in its current state --- Post updated --- the texturing and questionable modelling on the shell are what really look off --- Post updated --- also the gauges being tinted red just looks like they were stained with rustwater lmao --- Post updated --- honestly could be great eventually but rn not sure it should be a full on repo mod --- Post updated --- the pacecar model is pretty badass though --- Post updated --- parts like this especially look unnatural with how smooth they are --- Post updated --- also shifter works fine! --- Post updated --- and the weight is around how id expect it to be/irl specs (about 2800 with the pacecar) --- Post updated --- other notes: manual shifter is a bit strange with movement, quarter window trim could be thicker/lowered at top to match doorwindow, some engines seem quiet --- Post updated --- 6 speeds in sport models is odd, also low gearing (slightly tolerable with 85 mph speed limit making automakers decided to lower gears if i recall but still really low geared) also maybe carburators in early models? --- Post updated --- hood props could also raise the hood a good bit more since the added nose length lowers hood movement a lot.
The only real major issues I've found so far are the fact the lights don't glow, the engine with the Stock ECU overrevs, and that the 4 Barrel Carb just folds in on itself. Otherwise, that's really it for negatives. I find it neat to have a Foxbody Mustang in Beamng. Can't wait to see where it goes next.
appreciate the incoming feedback, will take a all of them into account. a little confused by this though, glass looks unnatural because it's too smooth? must've accidentally fixed it at some point and forgot or overlooked it. thanks for the heads up
i like it! it is definitely early and could use a plenty of polish, but as it sits it is very good groundwork for what could be in the future a really good mod! some bugs i have to report: doors and trunk do not open and no triggers to open them except for on the interior door panels, which cause the doors to deform under the handles and nothing more many models that definitely do not need drift steering have it (eg police configs) lights not properly glowing as stated above otherwise, the model + texturing could definitely use polish, though all of my gripes with it have been mentioned by others edit: i also think the amber interior lighting is cool, but too dim compared to the wendover's green lighting i also think a separate base model interior would benefit the mod a lot, leaving digital gauges for higher trims
edit: quiet engines are same volume as legran engines so its fine really --- Post updated --- other details: only one pair of rear lights activate with low/highbeams vs the wendovers which just get brighter when you hit the brakes (stupid us market thing that we have dont ask) --- Post updated --- definetely getting somewhere though!
i do still think there should at the very least be a louder exhaust for more performance oriented trims, even a base grand marshal is louder and it is quite funny to me that the v6 is somehow louder than the v8 lol
some of the gearing/transmission parts could probably also be yanked out of the moonhawk, realistically i figure a sport model of this car would have came from the factory with around 355-311 gearing --- Post updated --- anyways heres a race between this and a similar car turns out the soliad weighs almost 3900 pounds! --- Post updated --- perfection --- Post updated --- b side probably has some rad tune like pontiac had in the 80s lol --- Post updated --- some of the brakes and suspension as well i think could be possibly robbed off the wendover specwise atleast and adjusted (presumably some parts would be shared with the wendover) --- Post updated --- trailerpark moment
gonna try and slap something together with a few addon parts --- Post updated --- adds a 291 as a 302 equivalent, 4 and 3 speed transmissions from the wendover and some gearing. all of this was slapped together so adjust it how you see fit --- Post updated --- oh yea also added a i4 with specs from the legran --- Post updated --- for some reason installing the 291 breaks things? WTF did i do? --- Post updated --- wait a sec.... the 353 has the specs of a barstow 291 --- Post updated --- edited file even tho its useless kinda replaced 291 with a 309 out of the moonhawk
as for the trunk latch beam cars have springs simulated to lift the trunk up like IRL --- Post updated --- so anyways heres my imaginary early sport model with no real suspension upgrades, just brakepads and wheels and such+a 309 that only makes 205 hp because headcanon 291 paused production for a few years along with only a 4 speed+ 308 gearing --- Post updated --- other things: apparently foxbodys irl did have rear drums, atleast base models, also abs on all but base/mid models??????
Gearing needs to be improved for the I6 and V8 variants. They can barely do 100kmh on 3th gear, so they need longer gears or lower rear differential ratio. The V8 especially has so much power that the 2nd gear could almost be it's 1st gear lol.
I feel like the suspension needs some major tuning, feels a bit too stiff from standard. Otherwise awesome!
Is there any plan for an SVO type configuration? like a """""budget""""" sporty turbo 4-cylinder option? I tried remaking a svo style config with not great success lol
Super fun mod, loved it! Other people have pointed out some issues I encountered already, so I can't wait to see how this mod progresses in the future!
