me and you in same boat i have a first gen ranger 2bbl carb getting swapped with a 4bt as a carhead and 3d modeler, i can justify and say it is a key essential and they actually work well hand in hand. now that i have skills to 3d model, if i really wanted to, i can go above and beyond, and use those skills for fabrication, creating concepts, getting mesurements/fitments, and so much more.
Hey it's been awhile. I've been pretty busy with school work, and my real Toyota. I had to take a brake for a bit because I was quickly burning myself out. I'm really stumped on the suspension JBEAM and am looking for anyone interested in fixing it. Right now the mod doesn't even work thanks to all these game updates so I'm trying as hard as I can to get it to at least show up ingame. Anyway, I haven't abandoned anything, just needed a break to clear my head.
All good, I'm glad you all like it so much! I'm hoping to get some time to work on it later this week. I'll save the JBEAM issues for last and focus more on the textures and assets.
Looking forward for this! Your pickup mod is one of my favorite mods ever, can't wait for a standalone version.
Sorry been pretty busy with school lately (got into my AST college program). Does anybody know where I can get my hands on a properly working, scaled down truck jbeam files? I, for the life of me, cannot get my jbeam to work, the truck always either crashes the game, or implodes on itself. I want to get this done as I know all of you are eagerly waiting to play with this, but I am officially stuck
Why not use a modified D-Series Jbeam? You can easily move around and scale Jbeam using NodeTool (it sometimes doesn't work for certain nodes but generally does), I would use it to sclae down the D-Series Jbeam. Or if you want to get your own Jbeam to work, you can upload it here so other people can take a look, see what is wrong and help you fix it.
Thats what I have been doing, I scaled down the D series. It just has issues with locations, and because the suspension is designed to hold a massive truck, when I use it on the small little pickup, it just is too stiff, I've tried editing the suspension a bit too. I'm kinda scared of someone stealing the files and uploading the mod as themselves if I upload it, but I could DM the files possibly. Well, I may as well share some screenshots, it does drive, just has some kinks needing fixed first, as well as finishing the modeling.
I think you should release it as it is, even if a little stiff, or contact another modder directly to see how they set up their suspension, as I agree, posting your work unfinished is ripe for theft.
