Enhanced Dashboard is a UI gauge cluster-like app aimed to provide all the driving data you may need on one dashboard, plus quite a lot of features for enhanced realism. Given the size of the widget, it works best with the "Hood" camera.

    Disclosure

This mod is obviously vibe-coded, with some parts (mostly indicators, some graphics, and this post) made by hand of a real human. Any hate about this being vibecoded is completely understandable. If you decide to throw a bunch of piss-soaked rags at me, again, I understand.

I "designed" this primarily for myself and I planned keeping it private (this started as a simple mod to replicate cruise control features from VW Golf Mk8.5, then things got out of control), but some people expressed interest after I showed it on Reddit, so here goes. I am not sure about posting this on repo, as there is already plenty of bad AI mods, so I will start here and then see where it goes.

    Available features

Note that nearly each feature can be toggled off or adjusted in settings (use the Settings button in the right-side panel) or with a dedicated shortcut. Settings can be saved per-car.

    • Two openable panels for quick actions (context-aware).
    • Live speedometer with live updates and realistic mode (speed refreshes with a slight delay), live tachometer with breathing glow, redline warning, and launch control.
    • Indicators. Shows fuel, coolant temp, battery level, and power level with regen. Buses, trucks, semis, and other vehicles that use pneumatic also have an extra air pressure indicators. There is also the ability to switch between %, volume, and range. Fuel volume is remembered between resets and game restarts. For maps without working gas stations, there is a refuel button in settings.
    • Speed limit detection with overspeed warning (reads map data, not the actual speed limit signs, so will not work on poorly made maps).
    • Full set of warning lamps
    • Two sets of extra buttons for quick actions and onboard computer
    • System check on startup (purely cosmetic)
    • Trip computer with temps, boost, fuel and energy consumption (average, since start, since last refuel, instant), navigation, a dedicated offroad mode with live pitch and roll indicators with a rollover warning, ice risk warnings, tire pressure, driver fatigue, brake overheating warnings, etc.
    • Built-in map with two views and navigation support. If fuel/battery drops to reserve, trip computer offers to plot a route to the closest gas/chargingstation, point-of-interest show up on the map (gas stations, dealers, service stations, etc). Click the speedometer to enable the map. Click again to move it to the left. 3D/2D toggle is available in settings.

    • Advanced cruise control and speed limiter:
      • Modes: auto (automatically applies new speed limit), assisted (requires confirming the new limit), and manual
      • Driving profiles: eco, comfort, standard, and dynamic.
      • Automatic slowdown when entering a lower speed-limit zone
    • Various driver assist features:
      • Auto Hold, Auto Start-Stoop, and Hill Start Assist
      • Transmission lock: requires pressing the brake pedal to shift or start the engine
      • Auto-shifts into P when engine is switched off
      • Front and rear parking sensors with 5 zones. Detects objects on the map and other vehicles.
      • Traffic light detection: like in modern BMWs, displays traffic light on the dashboard. Green light begins flashing if you remain stationary. If auto start-stop enabled, engine turns on on green.

    • 4x4 and offroad:
      • Dedicated button for switching range and drive
      • Hill descent control
      • Automatic offroad mode: one-click turns off parking sensors and start-stop and brings the off-road page on the trip computer.
    • Bus features:
      • Buttons for opening specific/all doors, kneeling the bus, changing suspension height
      • Transmission lock when doors are open
      • Additional gauges for air pressure and battery for hybrid busses (Capsule).

    • Settings and etc:
      • Mod remembers your settings per car
      • Persistent odometer saves mileage per-config, plus you can set your own mileage in settings
      • Career mode support: uses mileage from career (should also work with RLS).
      • 17 key bindings (section Enhanced Dashboard) for various actions (you will have to define them yourself).
      • And probably more.
The mod only works in the current vehicle and does not affect AI cars or cars in BeamMP. However, if you spawn another car and switch to it, you can have its own settings and data. Also, you can use it without the UI app, as long as you mapped all shortcuts.

    Planned features:
    • Better visuals that do not scream AI SLOP this hard.
    • Radar-based cruise control (I am currently experimenting with this)
    • Alternative views, for example, for racing.
    • Improved resizeability and scaling
    Extra notes:

If you know how to code and want to modify/improve the mod, feel free to do it (just credit the original creation). Opus 5.5 coded this, not me (I have no clue how to code), so insides might be messy, even though the mod went through a series of optimization and console/logs analysis, plus many features were design with Claude looking directly into game logs and its parts.

Also, I tried to design this as best as I could to provide important information without overloading the UI. I am mostly satisfied with the result, but I am sure some of you guys know this stuff better and def can provide ideas on how to improve it. Once am I 100% happy with features, I will focus on V2 with a better user interface.

Any feedback and suggestions are welcomed, have fun with it.

    Version 1.1.12:

Added support for vehicles based on ArkFz Hybrid mod:
    • Added a button for switching between RE > HEV > EV
    • Dashboard now shows battery level next to the fuel level
    • Dashboard now shows power gauge with an engine temp gauge next to it
    • Switching to EV mode replaces the coolant gauge with a power gauge
    • Added proper ICE RPM reading
    • Added proper fuel and energy consumption readings in the onboard computer
    • Added proper ICE coolant and oil temperature readings
Delete the old mod, put the new version into the mods folder and restart the game. Main post updated with the latest mod version.

Not sure if it is something I am doing wrong or there is a setting I missed. But I am unable to get the navigation to work on the UI app. Is it vehicle dependent or something else? Other than that, I am enjoying this so far. Would be neat to have the option to swap temps to fahrenheit but that's just me being lazy

You have to click the speedometer (speed reading) to enable the map view. Note that the first run might take a few moments for the map to render (the bigger the map, the longer it takes). I think I need to make some features more apparent or make a more detailed overview of available features. I will also add the ability to change units.

Awesome! Thank you for the quick reply as well. I clicked everywhere but the speedometer haha. I am looking forward to seeing this improve over time. I saw the reddit post and had to try it out, even if it is AI slop. It works pretty well all things considered

Would is be possible to have the parking sensors function without the UI showing? As when playing in first person id like to still be able to use the parking sensors while having no UI on screen.

Really cool mod. Since there are a lot of assistance the mod provides, it will be really cool if I could turn off the mod or all the assistance features.

You can, in fact. You can toggle nearly every feature in the mod's settings section.
    --- Post updated ---
Yes, it is something I plan to add in the next update (should be out pretty soon).

    Version 1.2:

    • Emergency Braking: the app now displays emergency braking alerts. If ignored, applies emergency braking automatically. Emergency braking also works when parking. Both features could be turned off in settings.

    • Parking Assist changes: front parking assist now uses slightly different sounds than the rear one. Parking assist sounds now work with first-person camera.

    • Power and Torque: trip computer now displays power and torque gauges
    • Shift dots: in manual mode, tachometer displays small dots to mark the rpm of the last shift (could be toggled off).
    • New units: you can now toggle between metric and imperial in settings

    • Other improvements:
      • A dedicated View button for enabling map mode
      • Small animation fixes.
Main post updated with version 1.2. Close the game, delete the old version, and paste the new one.

    Version 1.3:
    • Added proper bus feature support for Hirochi Aero.
    • Added a built-in route display editor. Works with Capsule (supports color, additional text, and switch delaty), Wentward, Daewoon and Hirochi Aero. Click the Route button to open the editor.

Note: Hirochi Aero does not report pneumatic data. As such, the air pressure gauge is not showing up, unlike Capsule, Wentward, and Daewoon. There is nothing I can do about it.

    Version 1.5 (BIG update):

    • Front and rear cameras: this one is a big change, and it is currently in beta. The mod now has a front and rear cameras with guidelines. Rear camera automatically turns on when you shift into R. Front camera auto-enables when you shift from R to D (this can be turned off in settings) or by pressing the camera button on the left panel.
      • Note: Due to lighting changes in 0.39, you might observe some exposure changes when enabling camera (depending on the map and in-game time). You can partially mitigate that by EV compensation in game AND widget settings (widget settings has a separate settings for that). Widget remembers your map EV settings, so that you have to only apply them once. Also, front/rear cameras can be fully disabled.
      • Another note: There is a separate "Look Back" mode. It automatically applies "Look back" action when you are in reverse (R).

    • Obstacle highlight: Cameras highlight objects with semi-transparent blocks as you approach them.
    • Added trip cost: you can set fuel price in the widget settings and get cost for your current trip (you can reset it with by resetting TRIP A) or total mileage. Note: new fuel prices do not apply to previous trips, so making the fuel more expensive/cheaper won't affect previous records. Again, all records are per-config, and can be reset in settings.
    • Bus updates:
      • Added support for Gavril MD-Series busses. There are now buttons for doors and amber lights.
      • Removed the second door button for single-door Daewoon configurations.
      • Added Lines support for the bus display controller.
    • Reorganized setting.
    • Other changes:
      • Changed the looks of button lights
      • Added the View button for enabling the map view
      • Small speed limit sign now properly toggles overspeed limits
Right now, I think I am done with new features. Now I want to focus on polishing the experience, eliminating bugs, etc. I have already started work on two new views (analog gauges and sport mode), but these might take longer, as I want to get the base mod polished, give it a more human touch (get rid of AI-made stuff as much as possible), add extra language support, etc. I will also update the original post with better explanations on how each feature works.

As usual, feedback is welcomed and appreciated, have fun!
