Slowly building more hazardous tunnel infra and trying to keep the tunnel's lua triggered lighting and teleports working. Something changed in the game's lua loading, and now the trigger functions are a bit unreliable. Sometimes reloading lua with Ctrl + L fixes them. Also since my last post I've + added a semi abandoned lodge (wip) to the far side of the trails that begin from the two big farms + added cozy crackling sounds to fire pits + added an experimental "filth" terrain paint with plastic garbage ground covers gently swaying in the forest wind + added a couple more Big Five animal statues. Only Syncerus kaffer doesn't have a statue, though it's presented on the beer bottle labels. + continued general detailing Known (game) issues at the moment: - left side traffic only works in the tunnels - moon is missing - water foam effect is, well not completely missing, but not what it used be - textures on steep rock walls are stretched - severe fps losses on weak computers, reloading the level might help a little
If you want to, I could also make my African License Plate Mega Pack as the map's default license plate
Sure go ahead if you can make that kind of compatibility feature to your mod, but I'm not going to add anything that makes the map even semi-dependent on another mods. This isn't any particular country, merely a combination of all things I consider to be fitting to an African themed map.
Doubt, because There is a Chinese owned construction hardware yard near the SE tunnel entrance, so maybe something decent will be built eventually.
There is an issue in the path that splits into 2 ways near a town, and it also has a stop by, which all cars go through and crash, they also crash on the split, into the pole with the leftover concrete.
Thanks for the report. I did some rerouting and the town traffic should be a tad less chaotic now. New download link in the 1st post. I also added AI routes to the detour going past the red brick house. Many of my two-lane roads seem to be too narrow for the current AI behavior, as oncoming cars don't know how to yield. Maybe it's time to get back to developing this map, after a healthy nine month break.
The map really remains one of my favorites in terms of the number of frames. But how about adding wind sounds, similar to what is currently in Johnson Valley?
Wind sounds are nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do. I'll take a look at how the winds blow in JV.
To Hear the drums echoing tonight just place a sfx emitter and just deactivate the "is3d" setting under "3d sound". -> Wind sounds on the whole map. Hey I know its been a while since that comment but is that still the case? I have been using some objects from African Trails on the Skeleton Coast map. Still not anywhere near finished or released but the stuff from African Trails is a perfect fit (naturally).. the map is basically the place you´d end up if you enter the tunnel on african trails and come out on the other side a few hundred km to the north. Assuming african trails is set on the atlantic coast of south africa which is kinda what it looks like to me. Tbh African Trails was one of the maps that got me started in trying to make maps myself. I am looking forward to any updates that might come!
I've listed all the content that might need permission in the credits.txt. Buildings are free to use. The only things I can call mine are the map layout and a few decals.
