The cars also seem to handle a little odd from stock, it's almost like they have a bit too much grip. Maybe something else to look into would be fixing the tires and updating them to the new physics, but that's up to the creator.
"Several game versions ago" is an understatement, there have been like 3 complete tire system reworks since then
Thank you @Agent_Y and others for outdated stuff report and suggestions. wow, that's a bunch of missing stuff. Unfortunatly, it's way too much work to maintain the mod up to date, and fixing all the textures doesn't worth it as it's just cosmetics. I've not the same team anymore to work on it, everybody is busy, i have too much work too so this mod is definitly going slowly to outdated mods cemetery.
If you need help on the Jbeam side of things, I would be willing to help if it's necessary to save this mod, can't help with the textures though as I have never made any good ones
The new tire physics being added would be a great step to maintaining the mod. And honestly the textures don't look too bad. Could they be better, yes. However they are completely serviceable and playable as is.
While it's nice to see you officially updating the Oldsmobile mod to current standards, it will be a massive task to accomplish, to be completely honest with you. The last official update was to make it compatible for version 0.20, which was more than 2 years ago. Within that time span, the game received several new features in 7 major game updates, most of which didn't exist back when the mod was first released in 2016. Given that you won't have enough time like you used to back then for the foreseeable future (in addition to most of the original team being busy as well), I am also willing to lend you a hand in updating the mod. It certainly won't be an easy feat, but it can be done with enough time and patience. This mod has a special place for many people (myself included), so I would rather try and assist in updating whatever you need pertaining to some features instead of letting it become even more obsolete in future updates to the game. I'd love to see a few more people getting on board if they are interested in helping you out as well. A collaboration effort to revive the Oldsmobile mod for the latest build of BeamNG would be amazing
on the other hand, you dont seem to keen on getting together another team to fix this (shouldnt be that hard to make it useable, just some texturing and configuration changes ( sidenote i believe since the configs use notepad it should be possible to just use ctrl+f and then just paste in the text to convert it to the normal hubs and wheels
I've thought of using this mod as a base to tinker around with on my own, but idk if Fido wants to give permission for us to do that
Why are you demanding he fix it your way? He doesn't even have to fix it at all. Why don't you fix the mod? clearly, you know everything :3
