I've been adding some small misc parts today like badges for the wagon, interior panels and side trim, since the wagons share the tailgate and the materials are common both sets of badges fit both wagons so I added the ability to mix them together, same thing with taillights. Trim pieces also fit both bodies for most of the length (only the front fenders are an exception), but the bottom part is different. So I separated them into bottom, middle and top to have less duplicates in the model. There is a beater trim variant like before, and on the bottom it's a mismatch between Oldsmobile and Chevrolet pieces now. I think only the interior is left to do and then some weight tuning, then new tire sizes, then configs, and the wagon will be done. But the interior might take a while as I want to make the 2nd and 3rd row seats tiltable in a way that it creates a flat surface like irl. I already have different rear floor variants separate for 2 and 3 seat row wagon, which have a different spare tire location like I have found in references.
I'd imagine it'd be hard to make it look good in general with/without PBR. They are not the most high quality, that's for sure
I'm not planning to do this myself, interior textures will stay the same, they would also need upscaling to look good, and that would be A LOT of textures to upscale, and could mean a huge increase of file size
Wagon seats are done, 2nd and 3rd row are tiltable with triggers in the interior Also, I found references that the Delta 88 Royale Brougham LS Sedan had these huge opera lights on B pillars, while normally opera lights were reserved for the coupe body (and were an optional thing for the Ninety-Eight), were much smaller and further back. No idea how I missed them initially when looking at reference photos. So I modelled them based on coupe ones and added for the LS configs.
While making the configs for the wagon I decided to add some different variants of the front grille like irl (it differs depending on the year) since it was quite easy to do. Not sure if I will do the same for the Ninety-Eight since that grille model is harder to work with, and not even accurate for the 1980 model year currently, has a wrong amount of bars. Also I made some new beater parts for the Barn Find config based on the car found by Vanilla irl in Germany.
Configs done for the Custom Cruiser. Except half of them should have wood paneling but currently skins don't work yet. In this config list we have: 2 and 3 seat variants 3 engine options: 307 CUI gas, 350 CUI gas, 350 CUI Diesel 2 transmission options, 3 and 4 speed Updated 1985-1987 variants. Changes include single piece front fascia, third brakelight, stiffer suspension, tinted glass, high stall torque converter, some paid extras became standard Option packages 1SA to 1SF. Basically groups of optional equipment sold together like trims from 1988 to 1990, because only the 3 seat wagon with 1 engine and transmission option remained at this point, so they had to add some variety Gas and Diesel towing configs Configs carried over from old version of the mod and updated: derby, taxi, offroad, fire chief, TylerTJ's personal config based on his real life car (now more accurate as we have more parts). No rusty and beater configs yet because no skins and I'm making the rusty parts last after all else is done so I don't need to redo things Barn Find, based on the car found by Vanilla irl Brougham Custom, basically the Custom Cruiser with some parts from Delta 88 Royale Brougham LS swapped in it to be more luxurious Detective Special, based on the car from Lethal Weapon 2 because I have seen a few suggestions of people wanting it in the mod Stripped, has all luxury and interior bits removed and instead it's filled with cargo boxes Tuned Police, this only exists because it's funny that it's literally a "custom cruiser" lol I'm making the coupe next, including the Holiday Coupe for which most of the parts already work, obviously the main body is an exception.
kinda surprised that this mod's still going strong after all these years, are there any more updates within these threads that I might've missed?
Scroll up a bit. It appears Agent_Y is making some updates. As for updates you might've missed I mean you're gonna have to look for yourself but I am pretty sure all of the updates were posted on the first post and replaced whenever a further update was released. --- Post updated --- ^^^^^
So I was supposed to start working on the coupe but I remembered that many people wanted a hearse, and I was curious how hard it would be to make one. So I googled how they were constructed and apparently most of them were just stock Custom Cruisers with a special extended vinyl roof, wooden floor and a divider. Which meant it would be quite easy so I did it. I took the wooden floor mateiral from flatbed trailer, the divider from the already existing taxi variant, and the roof I modelled based on the normal wagon body with vinyl roof textures. The glass filler panels fit the stripped config well, while the top (without the metal decals) looks cool on the Brougham Custom. Also I made a tuner hearse since for some reason one exists irl lol
Woah this is really great actually pretty awesome to see that this mod is still being updated after these years.
Dude your going so far above and beyond with this I thought this mod died I guess I'm happily wrong thanks for all your hard work
