I love this thing. This is likely one of the best car/vehicle mods on this site. Maybe I'm just jaded from when you had the old car magazine cover pics with Roane County in it (but I don't blame you for using Italy this time around, it's very pretty, especially compared to Roane County 2016 version with lime grass yet).

Glad you've kept it working thus far. The rusty beat-up one is a hoot to go over jumps with when doors fall off.

for some reason the idling engine sound is still the custom sound but the sound of the engine running (when i'm driving) is just the normal barstow moonhawk and burnside engine sound. has that been changed or is it a problem i just have? also have the new beaters been released yet or are they still being worked on?

All is written in the changelog.
Sounds were outdated and not working properly, and i'm not sound engieneer. So i just kept idle combined to vanilla sounds, as written. This is not the V2.0 update but an hotfix pushed by the mod being broken recently.

Hey Bob, the Roane county pic is still there in the overview, i used Italy just for the new update, to place it in the chronology with game updates :)

I've noticed something terribly wrong with the regency after the hotfix...

There's also no floor at all with the Delta 88:

On the other hand, there is nothing wrong with the Chevrolet Caprice on my end...

Don't get me wrong, this is a good mod, but are you having problems with this too? Or is it just me?

No such issue here, these are screenshots of the uploaded zip files.

What you encounter is a cache issue, because you previously had the mod installed. Even if you remove the older version, game keeps a cache version of the files to make access quicker, which is called a Cdae file. So basically, what you see here is the new jbeam displaying the older version of the mesh. And as the new mesh was merged, it's normal to not see carpets anymore.

Always clear the cache after installing a new mod, or an update of a mod, that's the lesson. I need to write this in the description of the mod.

Caprice was already a merged mesh with carpets before, that the reason it's displaying correctly.

Screenshots made me realise that the catalytic converter is now showing inside on the floor, it's probably a node conflicting with another.

Thank you so much! Cleared the cache manually and the cars are now back to being normal again! (Well, the Regency at least)

All cars work, i had the same issue as you with the limo yesterday when testing the update, so all is checked. Even when we copy the new mesh in the folder, game doesn't make a new cache version.

Well it's very difficult to satisfy everyone on those concerns. Please note that i wrote vanilla cars in the repo mod because it's the case for this codename car, without any other work.
For the addon pack, i changed volumes, idles, depending on the variants, and the clunker sound was done in FMOD. So it will maybe keep improving.

Main issue with older sounds was they were considered as environnments sounds, so no way to make them work with different intake sounds, exhaust and so on, so it was necessary to move on and upgrade.

But also, it's still possible to make a special mod for the older sounds, if you want them, let me know.

mmmh wasn't even aware of this bug lol

Edit : no issue with the dummy here, do you have that with a specific preset ?

    screenshot_2018-12-22_18-21-39.jpg

But just noticed Stig and dummy have hands separated of the forearms, on the Caprice.

Just my opinion, but I think the old sounds were horrible.

Well they made their good service when there was just one V8 sound in the whole game. But compared to what vanilla cars now have, it's not possible to maintain i agree.

If someone with a good sound and Fmod knowledge want to say "challenge accepted", then i will be happy to have great racing car sounds, regular oldsmobile and chevrolet sound, my own Delta 88 V8 diesel sound (that i plan to record next spring). But it will have to sound as good as vanilla sounds, which doesn't seem to be that easy.

I thought your sounds were better than the vanilla sounds - for instance, you could actually hear the idle.

I've been to Italy before and thought about driving a full size down the incredibly small streets
6 months later I finally can

All the engines of the addon pack have the same idle as the previous older sounds.
I can make a mod especially for the nostalgics of the older sounds. But not now, it's soon christmas.
