Hmmm. OK. But Thx for your help. I will try it again when theres a new vesion of the map. Maybe that will solve my problem.
This is interesting, because American road is only map that has made my Windows tell me that I'm running out of memory and I do have 16GB, but I had over 4GB of that in use by other software at given time. This is what I got right now, 10.6GB for American road, 10.5GB for Roane County, base situation is two browsers (with over 600tabs open), blender, Clip Studio, Paint, numerous Office programs, MPC, several irfanwiew and all loads of stuff running. I gotta say I love this computer, I don't really need to close anything and it runs everything else just fine, except shadows in BeamNG. Of course situation might change when driving around, but American road is only map which I have got memory warning by windows and I do have swap file, so that is going way beyond 16GB usage to get such warning.
Yes, I've noticed that when I looked last night. It's the size and complexity of the forest brush - almost unavoidable on a map like this. It hogs memory. My Roane County with no forest required 1~2gb of RAM to run, forest brush collision data takes like 3.x~4gb or so of RAM, and much more on Virtual Memory. Physics, in 3 dimensions, has huge data-sets. I hope the future will bring on DDR5 system RAM and some more innovation in a hurry.
Do we need to set every tree precisely? Would processing power be enough to do it by math, most of the cores are still doing quite little *insert evil laughter here*
What ever it is worth, this is what my memory usage was with 95 minutes on American Road, at the later quarter of testing I had 4 vehicles on map: Here I did not have anything else running except MPC, HwInfo64 (that is what I used to log data, then used Excel to make graphs) and BeamNG, as you can see at beginning only 2GB memory was used, rest of that is BeamNG and this map, so 8GB might work, or then not, 16GB or more is what I want to have, and 16GB is what I have. With 8GB I did hit limits of physical memory quite often. I have only 4GB swap file and despite I have 16GB ram I got into situation where system was about to start using that swap to extend memory space: Committed virtual memory is real total memory used, so Windows + this map definitely uses up all 16GB of ram, to avoid swapping you NEED 16GB, but you might get away with 8GB with huge swap file and fast SDD, or at least so I interpret this data:
I have the newest version of BeamNG, and a 64 bit OS on Windows 7. 16 Gigabytes of RAM. It still won't load. any help?
Did you disable all other mods? How big is your swap file (page file) ? Do you have SSD or HDD? Even with my one of fastest SSD's available, map takes time to load and one point it feels like being stuck, but then it keeps going, with HDD it might take quite long if your mod folder is on HDD? Do you have 4GB of vram? I think this map used quite a bit.
I did try disabling all other mods, it still didn't work. I have an HDD. How do I find my vram and swap file?
Did you leave it for like 5+ minutes to load? It can take a WHILE, especially on 1st run. Google how to set your VIRTUAL MEMORY (page file), and your VRAM amount is found through DXDIAG, or hardware info program. Here on an AMD card this map used about 1900~2000mb of GPU RAM.
Yes, I left it to load for about 10 or so minutes. DXDIAG said I have 28389 MB of page file available. But I still can't find my vram
Vram is how much your GPU has memory, MSI afterburner shows that at least, I think even BeamNG should, from main menu you had to go to help and performance I guess? Sorry my memory is not the best.
Every time I install it I only get Industrial area, Chinatown, dockyards, redwood forest, highway, dirt track, race track, and the default spawn location. And it is different than the pictures in the article, Is there something I'm doing wrong here or what cause I don't see any offroad tracks and swamps I only see the city
This is all i get to see when i open the map. Am i missing part of the map or something cause it seems as if i dont have the full map and I've reinstalled 3 times along with the game itself This is all i see
I think what he's saying is that when he selects the american road map the spawn selection for West Coast USA shows up. Are you sure that you are selecting the American Road map and not West Coast USA? If this screen is still coming up, have you tried to spawn in from any of the locations?
There is no other American road. when I install it it says American road on it but when i click on it it changes back to west coast --- Post updated --- Nevermind i got it. it fixed itself once i installed it from the mods menu in beamng drive instead of downloading it from this website
There is smaller airport with dirt surface near one of the spawn points. I think its called "Road 1".
