I've been having random lag spikes on certain maps with high detail.

    Video proof starts at 0:19

I had taken my laptop to a shop a month ago due to it crashing excessively. The shop said it was due to conflicting drivers and the CPU overclocking itself from the factory(Set to high performance plan). It was running ok up until October last year when the crashes started. After I got it back from the shop, it's more stable since its on balance, but BeamNG runs worse. Is there any way to get rid of the lag spikes without messing with the CPU?

It may be a RAM speed issue. It seems like Beam doesn't like DDR4 systems, as the memory speed is low. Then again, your memory bandwidth is fine, so that may not be the problem. Sometimes clearing cache or a driver update / reinstall fixes some performance related issues.

Could you provide some extra information, like what you have running in the background, what renderer, what is your RAM usage, CPU&GPU utilization, and your temperture readings?

On AMD CPU's, enabling PBO can drastically improve performance, but you have a Intel.
