Anyone else think this forum is turning to S***

Well, at least no one is taking advantage of the non-existant rules... yet. We run off of common sense, and until we lose that common sense we are not shitty to the point where it's not worth coming here.

 

If you think the forum is turning to shit, then stop turning the forum to shit with threads describing how the forum is turning to shit.

 

The thing i noticed recently that really got me confused and annoyed was how many of them there are now. There is someone that i pointed out in another thread whos join date was october of 2015. And he has over 600 posts. Most of them being almost completely useless and trolling, and its not just one person, its so many. I know people are going to be stupid and we cant stop that but there has to be something put in place. I dont want to shut out everybody and their chances but i think we've all had enough.

 

We are trying to fix it. Not make it worse, please dont make this into a heated shitshow of a thread. Its just about that. (and its not just you)

 

How about everytime you click a thread and/or make a thread, it will give you a pop-up reminder that says "ATENTION! Use the search feature before posting so the same things won't be said."

 

What about a dedicated Admin team for this forum?

Its a crazy idea...who would take on the sheer madness of this forum.....

 

That would get way too annoying. Unless it was out of the way.

 

We had a thread like this before, way back in the vBulletin days. It was called "This Forum." It tore the community apart, deepening the chasm between "junior" and "senior" members, and the forum was never the same. I recommend this thread be closed before something awful happens.

 

This is a very very difficult topic to come up with ideas of how to save a forum like this....

Yes, I know I only joined last year, but I still have something to say.


I think there should be some sort of post limiter. I haven't really thought it all the way through, but here's my idea.

You should only be able to post like maybe 5/6 posts in a certain amount of time to stop the spam.

I haven't worked out all the kinks, but just putting it out there.

 

So you are talking about 5 or 6 posts a day or something like that?

 

Yes, if it's too much or too little amount of posts per day, I'm sorry. I did it off the top of my head.

 

Its okay, I see the potential in the idea behind it but can it be implemented safely...

 

Yeah, and it would kind of sidetrack the devs from developing their game into focusing on managing the forums.

 

I mean the problem is simple the game is getting more popular thanks to the likes of YBR and other famous youtubers, so the game sometimes attracts kids

 

What about my idea of a Dedicated Forum Administration team?

 

Nice, so kind of an in between of an admin and a staff member that just focuses on the well being of the forums. That's good because no one wants a relapse of what happened on the RoR forums..

 

would it be made out of community members or would it be made out of people who are hired for the job?

 

Community volunteers.
Maybe they check if reports are worthy/not spam and mark that post up to be checked over by one in power.
