Anyone else think this forum is turning to S***

If you don't like a specific user, then just ignore them. Complaining about specific users in a public thread is completely unnecessary.

 

Sometimes I agree remember others can see this and the pubic can as well....

 

Well seeing as there are a number of posters in here that i havnt seen in a while, theyre agreeing about the topic (for the most part) and there hasnt been much flaming to speak of, that says that there is some level of truth about the forums becoming worse (for the time being). People agreeing on the internet! Thats a pretty big deal.

Normally there are "waves" of crap on the forums, where after a while of bad posts and complaints of bad posts it returns to the core userbase. But something just seems different about this one. Theres too many people spouting too much crap this time, even more than after pewdiepie played Beam. If it isnt contained, the forums are going to need some serious wiping.

 

To go off @tdev: I think the main goal should be to contain both the complaining and the cancerposts. I could easily see this thread becoming the germination of a massively toxic forum culture, and that has to be stopped as well. See what happened to the "Mom's Spaghetti" guy. If it weren't for this thread, a couple people might have just pointed him to the "what are you listening to" thread and that would have been the end of it. He'd learn, and if he didn't, well, that type of poster can be rather drive-by. If he persisted in being a problem, he'd have got the boot, same as any other forum.

We don't want to end up in a place where the core usergroup is the real cancer, where all the newbies get immediately wolfpacked by oldbies screaming "USE SEARCH YOU [censored] MORON" or "STAHP TALKING WHAT THE CAR LOOK LIKE I CAME EXPECTING DEV SCREENSHOTS AND BLARG HARG HARG DISCUSSION BLARG GUESSING" or "The Pessima looks like an Ibishu Pessima hur hur I'm so clever and funny".

Although I will admit that it's kind of annoying when you see an alert for the Vehicle Suggestions thread and find out that it's an un-smart suggestion from someone who clearly knows nothing about cars.

 

With the popularity of the game has come an influx of younger users, who collectively make the forum a less pleasant place to be.
A great example of this is the cancerous BeamNG Roleplay Thread, which is full of pre-teens who have nothing better to do than pretend they have a life inside of Beamng and spam the stupid thread. That single thread is the embodiment of both the decline of the Beamng forum itself, but also who's causing the decline, which is why I take such issue to it.

you're quite right, i do have nothing really better to do, except get to 600 hours on beamng, i'm at 578.

 

I agree with what you say, we are all equals here on the forum we must help each other out

 

It would be more enjoyable on this forum if I could blacklist certain threads so I could never see them again. After blacklisting drama filled cesspools like this thread, blacklisting every roleplay thread within sight and ignoring everyone who frequents roleplay threads this forum would be a rather nice place again for me.

 

So black listing words hmm...interesting theory....like some word relating to spam posts banned immediately that would be difficult to implement

 

nope, more like there's a button on the title of the thread that if I press, and confirm then it hides that thread from me completely

I didn't mean it as muting the thread entirely, I meant it as muting it for yourself. Also, if you want people to stop ranting in that rp thread then you people in there should learn how to use the edit function.
