I noticed my SBR sounding slightly different, from what it used to be: https: watch at 0:49

But now it sounds like the VW bug mods flat 4 watch a 3:40 for sound reference :

Am i the only one ?
there is no physical sound files to tweek it so im confused?

there used to be 2 sounds, one for the race/ sport exhausts, and the normal muffler sounded, well, muffled.
they just decided to just use the one muffled sound for the SBR4. and Herbie used it too.
Im pretty sure thats how it went down.

the sbr has two engine options, a 2.0L and a 2.5L.
the B4 sound was used for the 2.0L and the B4S sound was used for the 2.5L, it had nothing to do with the exhausts.
not sure why they changed it, since the B4S sound was beastly, and is now completely unused...

Yeah, it was changed on purpose.
Both for technical reason (the sample apparently wasn't going that high in RPM) and another reason that will be clearer in the future.

it's a lot of cars. i see huge amounts of porsche, with inspiration from lots of japanese brands. just because of flat 4 and awd doesn't make it a subie lol.
it's one of those cars that's super unique, and isn't really based off of one, two, or even three real cars. it's a mashup

    something for the autobello? :p

also, the sample sounded fine as it was to me.
even when revving over 9000rpm, it sounded consistent with itself.

yeah I understand, but thats what it struck me mostly as
different people see different things i guess

and yes, it never did get messy over 9000
Im not sure what was happening, but ok i guess :p

there is no new sound. ever since the sound update, there were two sounds, one for the 2.0L and one for the 2.5L. but now, the 2.0L and 2.5L both share the sound from the 2.0L.

    not really
I like the 'new' sound for the 2.5L
despite it not sounding as aggressive.

i don't think it compliments the car, doesn't show how rowdy the car is, and the sound of the aggression. all i can see when i drive it is the vw bug.
    sad times lol

like i said before, it sounds like a H4
Like one with unequal exhaust headers.

I don't know if bug engine sound code was changed, but when I made it, I did play values a little to get it sound less throaty, but then again it was a long time that I did make first flat 4 for Herbie mod and I have no idea if those have been changed since then.
