Would I be able to take one of the .png of the rims in the mod and color it? Working on a skin right now.
Yes, the rim is in not a PNG but rather in .DDS format, but you sure can recolor or modify it. --- Post updated --- The code for the first clip was finalized. This is a significant step in the right direction, because now all we need to do is to reshape the structure to fit the different front end designs. I'll post a "beta" truck for you to test soon. Placement of collision triangles underway. Soon you'll be able to... run over your own truck.
No need. Mini-beta time! Only includes the F150 body, with breakable front clip. Test away if you like, then report back. Known issues: - The hood might get stuck into the chassis upon breakage. There's currently no solution to this. - Once detached, the hood might bounce a bit too much on the ground due to the relatively high beamSpring value of the beams in the structure. We're investigating the issue.
would it be possible to make it bend a little bit more before it breaks off? screens (and yes, i repainted some things. who doesn't like black right?) --- Post updated --- and when something gets caught in the cradle or rear driveshaft (can't really determine which), it cause the camera to spaz out vid below (ignore the people talking)
I think the ultimate goal, eventually, will be to make it resemble fiberglass as closely as possible. It probably won't bend much more before it cracks. Possibly caused by the abrupt stop from catching the axle coltris - and resultant short movement into reverse, and then back forward, that caused the camera to get confused which direction you were heading? I really don't know for certain though. Certain camera modes do some undesirable things in certain position/situations.(ie landing upside down in default obit position) The mod doesn't really do anything with them besides set their initial location and default parameters. edit: Also, I love the 'murdered out' look --- Post updated --- I have a feeling that collision triangles on tires will be banned from all major events, due to their tendency to grab and throw things incredible distances. Very unsafe. What if I was sitting there?
can we increase traction with the tires, they are sliding a bit too much, or could we bring the ukraines again? --- Post updated --- also, can we start dividing the truck up into skin pack to reduce the number of presets and the overall file size? leave all bodies that are there in but put the skins into packs for seperate DL
That's been happening ever since we had coltris in the chassis/axles. I'm thinking of reverting some of the changes introduced in 2.0 (such as this) to restore some of the old functionality lost in the process. --- Post updated --- Sure, but mind you higher frictionCoef also causes the tire to stick more into things. That's the reason why it was lowered in the first place. --- Post updated --- First thing I'll probably do: take all of the "original" skins for the F150 off, and only leave the MJ "replicas" in there. Distribute the extra skins as an optional pack.
i was just relaying a message about the traction. they are a bit slippery but i know the issues with increasing it. wonder if the Beamng devs can implement some more traction coefficients to deal with dirt, (which i have an idea, the heavier the vehicle is overall, when you start to slide, the tires behave differently on different surfaces (pavement they slide, dirt and mud, they dig in) and have a "tread" type system so different treads act differently) it's just an idea.
I'm working on tires as we speak. Next update will add: - Three new tires options: Goodyear, Firestone, Ukraine (meshes courtesy of @ROCKGODBOSS). Trying to differentiate them a bit, according to the indications ROCKGODBOSS provided. - Adjustable frictionCoef for all tires options. Default will be 1.15, will range from 1.0 to 1.25.
Maybe call it a "Wish List"? lol I have tons of really good ideas, but whether or not they will ever be done, or be able to be done, is another story.
now for some proper tires.....lol also, emptied the D-series and T-series so you can use them for both the CRD and Cohen
i am not an expert when it comes to modeling but i did my best. go into edit mode and start deleting vortecies
